Stamford Plaza Melbourne is located in the middle of the CBD, within walking distance of many attractions. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. On arrival, the staff were underwhelming and came across as rude. When we asked for dinner recommendations, the response was simply, “anywhere is good,” which was not helpful. The facilities feel very dated. There was no complimentary water or fruit, not a coffee machine in the room and the room itself and the bathroom both looked old and worn. Overall, the hotel is a maximum of 3-star standard. They also recommend to book directly to “guarantee the best available rates” however we called twice on the day and they couldn’t match/beat the Booking.com price hence we booked on that platform Our room was right next to the lift, making it difficult to sleep due to constant beeping and people coming and going. We do not recommend this hotel and will not be returning.

To give an honest and objective review, this hotel only deserves a 2-star rating as a 5-star hotel. The advantages include its downtown location, quiet and spacious rooms, large beds, complete facilities, convenient transport access and comprehensive service. However, the main disadvantage is that the room facilities are old and poorly maintained, some are visibly stained and rusty. I would also like to complain about the bathroom taps. Having two separate taps for hot and cold water makes it extremely difficult to get the right temperature. This is quite an outdated system and really inconvenient! Also, the drinks and snacks in the fridge are not free, but there were no price tags displayed, which is quite misleading. I assumed the 300ml orange juice was free, so I opened one. It was only after I called the reception to double-check that I was told it costs 6.5 AUD! That is quite expensive compared to approximately 2 AUD price in nearby convenience stores. It would be much better if the hotel could clearly label the price for every item in the mini-bar to avoid any confusion.

We had a wonderful stay at Stamford Plaza Melbourne with our family. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, perfect for staying with children. The indoor pool and spa were a highlight for us — clean, warm, and very family-friendly. Our kids really enjoyed it. The staff were polite, professional, and always helpful whenever we needed assistance. The hotel is also in a great location, close to public transport, restaurants, and shopping areas, which made everything very convenient. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience. We are very happy with our stay and would highly recommend this hotel for families. We will definitely return in the future.

It was nice view and the service was fast and the staff were really nice. We had a really nice time. The pool was relaxing and the seats were comfy. Our room was huge! The location was okay cause it was near lots of shops, but it was in-between two towers of the hotel and we ended up on the wrong side but it wasn't a big deal since we didn't have much luggage

Good choice International branded hotel (part of the Singaporean Stamford group) to stay at for a staycation or for work. The best thing is the convenient location in the CBD and it's close to Chinatown. Reasonably priced room rates as well. The indoor pool and spacious spa tub was very relaxing. Rooms are clean and reasonably sized. Also enjoyed the dining at the restaurant (Harry's Bar). I've had many a burger there for corporate lunch. Delicious. Sometimes they have a Singapore themed menu which was appreciated.
