Lune, Melbourne 🥐🇦🇺
Finally tried the famous Lune croissants and we got lucky with no queue around 3pm.
The bakery is tiny with limited space, so most people would opt for takeout. We ordered the plain and chocolate croissants to try. They were flaky on the outside, soft on the inside and very Instagrammable.
The croissants were good, but a little overrated and definitely overpriced for my liking. No regrets though. Had to try it once while in Melbourne to tick it off our jiakjiakjiak list. 😊

Honestly, Lune completely lives up to the hype. The croissants are unreal, super flaky, buttery, and clearly made with a lot of care. You can taste the quality in every bite. The coffee was great, and the staff were friendly and efficient despite how busy it gets. It’s one of those places you’ll happily line up for and still walk away impressed. Easily one of the best pastry spots in Melbourne.

Exceptional experience @ Lune, Melbourne
Lune, located at the iconic 16/161 Collins St, is more than a patisserie—it’s a culinary experience that lives up to the hype. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted by the stunning warehouse-feel ambience—open, minimalist, and beautifully industrial, with a glass-walled "lab" where you can watch the pastry chefs at work. The space is cool, crisp, and thoughtfully designed, making the act of picking up a croissant feel special and almost theatrical.
Of course, the true stars are the exceptionally delicious pastries. Each item is a masterpiece of precision and flavor. The croissants are the gold standard—incredibly flaky, buttery, and perfectly laminated. Whether you go for the classic plain, a rich almond, or one of their innovative seasonal specials, you are guaranteed perfection. Their selection of viennoiserie and pastries is consistently brilliant, and the coffee (and related beverages) is excellent, providing the ideal pairing.
While there can be a queue, it moves efficiently and is absolutely worth the wait. The service is sharp and knowledgeable, adding to the seamless, premium experience.
For anyone in Melbourne with an appreciation for the art of pastry, Lune is not just a store—it’s a destination. A flawless five-star experience for the senses.

Almond Croissant 🥐 – a famous spot in Melbourne
This place is very popular with both locals and tourists.
The croissant is topped with almonds — delicious, crispy, and super satisfying 😚
The pastry has beautiful flaky layers, with a hint of cinnamon inside.
The queue is very long from the moment the shop opens.
I like that you can choose your pastries when you order.
After ordering, you just find a place to stand or sit and wait — they’ll bring it to you.
Drinking water 💧 is self-serve

Having visited Lune I can understand why social media rated them highly, their pastries are incredible! The almond croissant and the 'turtle' chocolate pastry were flavoursome and flakey, definitely worth paying that bit extra for a quality product, especially as a tourist. Their hot chocolate complemented the pastries well, ready to drink immediately once served. Our order arrived in a timely manner given how busy Lune is. The cafe was busy on the day we went, with a queue out the front door. There is some seating available inside. I would recommend visiting Lune for high quality pastries.
