If you want simple, comforting and delicious food, this place gives you exactly that. I’ve been to Ilza Cafe a few times now, and every visit has really hit the spot for me. The cafe itself is very nice and pleasant, with both indoor and outdoor seating.
Today we ordered the chicken, tofu and beef bao, a chicken sando, pork katsu sando, a peanut butter latte and a strawberry matcha latte. We were seated pretty much immediately, and the food came out around 5–10 minutes after ordering. Keep in mind this was on a Saturday afternoon with no prior reservation and the place was completely full, so that was a huge positive!!
Everything was delicious and really pleasing to eat! It just always hits, which is why we’ve been back a few times. The only small thing I’d mention (which wasn’t really an issue for me) is that the iced matcha is on the weaker side, though it’s very creamy and sweet. Overall, the food is done well and feels genuinely comforting, you definitely feel satisfied by the end of the meal.

Nice environment. Friendly staff. However my pork katsu tasted like it's processed meat that has been refried. Also it was coated with mayonnaise making it super sweet. Definitely not Japanese food, but if you like sweet fusion Japanese, you may like this. Pricier too, but there's a 5% discount if you pay by cash

Tasty Japanese food in a peaceful setting.
I enjoyed Salmon Aburi Don (Special) with Salmon Roe and a Sesame Latte. Plates are so beautifully presented and of a good size.
Come for the Unagi Don, plenty of tempura dishes on Udon noodles or Rice, prawns, vegetables, tofu, speciality beef & pork. All the favourites are here too, such as edamame and Matcha.
Courtyard dining is so inviting under the shade of trees and umbrellas. Which makes this cafe a gem, situated in the industrial zone.

Super delicious food. Very quick and efficient service. We had a few dishes and all of them were delicious. I would highly recommend for anyone to try this place. You order and pay on your phone and the food gets delivered to your table. Highly recommend the food here. Favourite was the abouri Salmon and beef don. We will be back to try the other items.

This is it! I feel like I’m back in Japan, the food taste amazing. Only first visit and only wanted to try the simple things we try in other places to see how they benchmark and I’m so happy they executed everything perfectly. My new favourite place to come now. So happy!
Ilza cafe has a nice decor style and music, the vibe that almost makes me feel I am in Japan. Do check out their menu, pretty good range including their drinks menu, it’s like a Japanese bar rather than just usual cafe.
