Tried matcha latte and chicken katsu sando. Matcha was nice and chicken katsu was to die for. Crispy outside and succulent and juicy inside. Friendly staff and cozy vibes. Will be back.

Matta Cafe is a charming neighbourhood eatery with a relaxed vibe and a great mix of dishes. The Japanese Wagyu Beef Hambagu was excellent, coffee and matcha both hit the spot, and the Creamy Udon Carbonara and Beef bulgogi Rice Bowl were tasty and satisfying. We arrived about 40 minutes before closing, and while the staff were still polite and patient enough, you could sense a bit of impatience as they were rushing to wrap up. Still, a nice place for a casual meal or drink if you’re in the area.

The food here looks amazing and tastes even better! Super tasty and the portions are really generous. If you’re around Melbourne, definitely swing by – it’s totally worth it. You have to try the Prawn Nori Taco – crispy seaweed with a big juicy prawn tempura? So good! Plus, the owner is really nice and the staff are super friendly and cheerful. Loved the vibe!

A perfect place to meet and gather. The staff are very friendly and the ambience is chill, but most importantly the drinks here are amazing. Parking is plenty in the neighbourhood, which is another plus

I ordered takeaway from here but the curry omelette container was not closed properly so all of the food spilled out onto the counter, effectively destroying the meal. Can’t comment on the taste as it was inedible now.
