Itβs a very nice place. This was our second visit and we enjoyed the atmosphere once again. When the weather is nice, itβs lovely to sit in the garden and watch people getting on the boats, or you can join a boat ride yourself. Overall, itβs a great spot to have a pleasant day. However, despite being very busy and popular, the prices feel a bit high considering the menu mostly offers quite basic options. It would be even better if the prices were a little more reasonable.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming πΈ

A wonderful place to get married - tucked by the Yarra, the water gives a calm rhythm to any wedding. The soft light filtering through the trees really sets the mood for a beautiful day. One of my favourite places to photograph as a wedding photographer in Melbourne. Can't wait to be back!

Overpriced for Self-Service - Bad Food - Nice View/Vibe
We went to the Fairfield Boathouse with much hope. Upon arriving, we were welcomed well. The staff is absolutely friendly. However, I noticed the price of food is above average for usual pub-styled menu. This is especially when we were told that orders won't be taken at the table, nor food will be served to the table - it was all serf-service.
Therefore we expected the quality of the food to be high.
When the food arrived, it looked great. Unfortunately that's the only good thing about it - the Chipotle source tasted funny - I felt like throwing up from the first bite on. The burger costed $31.00 each but, honestly the $8.00 burger at McDonald's tastes much better than that.
Highly disappointed.

Went here for lunch on a nice sunny day and the scenery is beautiful! However the place was packed because of this and we waited one hour for our food.
They were busy so I can forgive that, but here you also need to go and grab the food yourself like a fast food resturant, which you aren't told till after you pay. So if you are sitting outside, you need to walk back upstairs to the "grill" area and grab your own dishes and back down stairs to your own table. Oh, and don't forget your cutlery!
The staff are kind but not very attentive, one helped me bring my meals to the table but we asked another for napkins and all they did was refill a self serve station and didn't say anything.
When I brought my plate back and bit into my $22 "mushroom and brie toastie", it was basically empty! The toast was cooked perfectly I will say, but you would think for that price and after such a long wait, you would ensure quality in all aspects of the meal, especially filling the sandwich.
I haven't tried the canoeing along the river here, but I can't recommend coming here for the food, especially if they are busy. Maybe if you come in an off period and sit right next to the kitchen, and don't order the toasties; it was definitely a rip off. Also their cocktails were very small.
It wasn't all bad, but I think it has fallen in quality, I don't plan on coming back.

Dropped by for lunch here after our small hike/walk around the Yarra Bend area. Ordered the Steak Sandwich and the Fish and Chips. Food was good and service was fast/efficient.
All in all, a decent place to stop by for a quick or relaxing meal if youβre hiking or taking a stroll in the area.
