Lower Plenty Chicken

I'm a coeliac, and I've been here many times. Usually the food is absolutely delicious and I love the snack packs and salads! I drive a decent way to get this food because it is (usually) so good. They seemed to know gluten free food very well and I can tell the owner is passionate about it! Because I had such faith in this place, I decided to try a gluten free wrap on my birthday... big mistake. I was sick within an hour. I spent my whole birthday in the bathroom in severe pain crying. I didn't even get to eat my own cake and I was out of commission for days I'm not sure what happened, whether there was cross contamination (the worker there wasn't familiar so maybe he was new? I'm unsure) but I do know that I was definitely glutened and quite severely. I've honestly never had a worse reaction. This has sadly put me off. Though I love the food, and the chips are some of the best I've had, I can't risk my health for some tasty food I write this review with the hope that this will prompt the owner to further educate their staff on the importance of avoiding cross contamination when serving gluten free food, especially to coeliacs I hold no animosity, it happens when a place isn't entirely gluten free and the right care isn't taken, I just don't want anyone else to go through what I went through. I felt it was important to say something. Be cautious when eating here if you're a coeliac, get the foods that are least likely to have cross contamination as those seem mostly safe. Can't say the same about the wraps..

Owner is very friendly and polite same as staffs. Roast chicken (GF) is absolutely amazing! They cook with charcoal and it's very tasty, juicy and fresh. I usually don't like stuffing because the taste is aweful but this one is rice based and flavoursome!! Price is very reasonable. Parking can be hard and busy sometimes but apart from that, it's good place to get a roast chicken to be honest. I will be happy to come back anytime! 🙂

From the moment you walk in to the moment you leave the owner is fantastic and welcoming. He is very passionate about his cooking and his products and my lord it tastes phenomenal. The chicken is juicy and tasty, the rice stuffing also a hit. The chips and chicken salt is delicious, the gravy was rich and creamy packed with flavour. We also got the chicken and avocado salad, which was nice and refreshing. The serving sizes are generous for the price. Definitely will be returning!! Well done.

Amazing food! Come here most days during the week for lunch and never been disappointed! Bring gluten free Is always hard to find amazing food but this place has proven me wrong. Customer service is great. Chicken has flavour the salads are excellent. Will be recommending. Thankyou 🩷

Just got some chicken as didn't want to cook on NYE. Lovely and juicy and the gluten free rice stuffing was a great change from the usual stuffing at most chicken places. And what a friendly owner!! Super helpful. Will be going back.
