Overall very good and I’d definitely come back. But few things did throw me off a bit. Too close to being perfect. Had a Galbi Chicken Cup Bap. Everything was great especially the chicken. I think for a Cup Bap, the rice needs to be a slightly dryer, and there was too much rice for the amount of chicken & sauce. I ended up leaving a fair amount of rice. Tteokbokki was excellent and I might say among the top in Melbourne. Gim Mari and chicken provided were both good and complemented Tteokbokki well. Unfortunately the dumplings were not as good in comparison, and the eggs were too cold (cooked perfectly tho). Staff were appropriate for fast food environments. Did their job.

Exceptional juicy Korean chicken. Enjoyed the grilled soy garlic half chicken meal and the supreme boneless KFC. All elements were good, crispy chips, chicken was juicy enough and the flavours were great. The sides were not salty like El Jannah. And the garlic aioli was very nice. Service was warm and friendly too.

I really cannot recommend Smoky Hen highly enough. I don’t say this lightly: It may actually be the best chicken I’ve had anywhere in the world. We drove over from Armadale and called in on Saturday for lunch. Friendly team. Decided to order half a roast chicken glazed in soy garlic, a medium portion of boneless Korean fried chicken with the Supreme sauce and medium fries. The roast chicken was cooked to perfection, moist and full of flavour within and coated with that amazing soy garlic blend to dip the meat in. The Korean pieces were crisp and had such good flavour. I don’t think I’ve had chicken done so well before. Their lunch menu also looks superb. I’ll definitely be back here!

The food was decent. It says they use woodfire, but we couldn’t really pick up much of that smoky aroma. That said, it’s still noticeably better than your typical charcoal chicken joint. The place is clean and modern, and you can order either through the QR code or directly at the counter. Service is quick and friendly. There aren’t many tables inside, but the layout is spacious enough to manage comfortably — even with a baby stroller.

Despite the good reviews, the food was average. Everything was covered in too much sauce . you can see it in the photos. The heavy sauce and sugar hide the real taste of the food, rather than making it better.

Low Sugar
