This was our third stay at View Hotel Melbourne, and unfortunately, it was a major letdown compared to our previous positive experiences.
We arrived expecting the familiar service, but were immediately frustrated by the complete lack of assistance—no staff available to help with our luggage, leaving us to manage everything ourselves.
Room cleanliness was just average at best, with noticeable cobwebs everywhere, which was surprising for a hotel we've trusted before. Not sure if management has changed, but the standards have clearly slipped. Breakfast was the worst part: only one overwhelmed person trying to run the entire show. Tables weren't cleared, leaving no space to sit, and the buffet was constantly empty—we had to wait ages for fresh refills. It felt chaotic and unprofessional, especially for a family stay. Overall, this was not a good experience for us.
View Hotel needs to step up its game if they want to retain repeat guests like us. Skip it unless things improve.

Had a really pleasant stay here. The rooms and amenities were spotless, and the water pressure in the shower was excellent. The city views are a nice bonus as well. The staff were super friendly and accommodating—I requested an early check-in for 11 AM, and they managed to get me a room by 12:30 PM, well ahead of the 3 PM standard. Definitely a comfortable spot to stay.

Our family of 4 had a lovely stay in a double double room. (2 X double beds) The hotel staff even put a microwave in our room for us, and were able to honour our request for a room with a park view.
The manager was so helpful and accommodating to a few of our other requirements and held our bikes in the luggage room. Thanks for making our stay so comfortable!

The room was nice, bed was comfy and shower pressure was amazing.
Room service was a bit lacking and didn't replace things. They simply made my bed and didn't change sheets. Having said that, there was no option to keep the same sheets or towels by placing a card or hanging them up etc. The restaurant music was so loud that I could hear it until 10.30pm from the 4th floor as my room was directly above. In other words, the rooms need better sound proofing. Not the best, not the worst hotel. Would recommend for a business trip.

I stayed in a King Room with balcony and city view. For $100 USD/night, I thought it was a good value.
The room was a good size and the bed was comfortable. The rug was ok, but I think it had seen better days. Bathroom was quite nice and everything worked a-ok.
Service was fine and the location was good (short walk to a bunch of tram lines).
The only significant negative was the elevator situation. Just one in operation, which was quite annoying. Thankfully I was on the first floor and could just use the stairs. Had I needed to use the elevator, i would have definitely been annoyed.
