The frustration is next level. We ordered chicken fried rice after checking their Facebook page—the pictures they posted looked amazing. I will upload both pics for comparison.
I can’t believe how hard it is for the chef to make a simple chicken fried rice, yet they serve something completely different from what they advertise. I do not recommend this place to anyone. We should all complain about businesses that rip customers off like this.
On top of that, they took more than 20 minutes to make it—and this is what I got.

I have to say, the chicken roll wasn’t really to my liking, it was flat, a bit soggy, and pricey. Also, some of the sago pearls in the sago drink were slightly undercooked.
But the curries were absolutely delicious and beautifully prepared! The food was clean and nicely presented, and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d definitely go back to try more from their menu.

Pastry box is my go-to place for authentic Sri Lankan food. Im a regular customer for many years and have never been disappointed with the food and service. The rice and curry pack in banana leaf is my personal favourite as it tastes just like home. The savoury rolls, pastries and sweet treats taste divine and I have to stop myself from buying everything cause they all taste amazing! The owner and staff are very pleasant and polite and always obliging for any special requests. The restaurant is very clean and well maintained. The owner runs this place with so much love and care for her customers. I will never go elsewhere.

The kesel kole bath here is absolutely the best I’ve ever had! The rice is perfectly cooked, the flavors are rich and authentic, and it comes beautifully wrapped in the banana leaf, just like home. Every bite is a burst of Sri Lankan tradition and comfort. Highly recommend this place if you want a true taste of Sri Lanka!

I’ve always had a great experience at Pastry Box Cranbourne north. The service here is just as good as the food, and the staff make every visit a pleasure.
In particular, Shenali deserves a special mention. She always welcomes us with a pleasant look and a beautiful smile, and she treats customers with real patience and care no matter how busy it gets. Her friendly attitude and professionalism make a big difference and keep us coming back.
It’s rare to find service that feels this genuine, and it really adds to the warm atmosphere of the store. Highly recommend!
