My daughter celebrated her First Holy Communion at Houdini’s, and we couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. Booking was so easy—I simply left everything in Anna’s capable hands, and she guided me with wonderful suggestions. The food was absolutely exquisite, and our guests thoroughly enjoyed every dish, with plates completely cleaned at the end of lunch. Even the kids ordered more because they loved it so much, and the adults were just as pleased. The staff were polite, attentive, and incredibly helpful, and the atmosphere felt more like being welcomed into a family home than just dining in a restaurant. Prices were very reasonable, and despite the restaurant being fully booked, the wait times were excellent. Given that it was an open tab, we actually expected to pay more, but we were pleasantly surprised at how fair and reasonable the final bill was. Anna and Frank even came by personally to check how everything was going, which was such a thoughtful touch. We left with full tummies and even fuller hearts—thank you, Houdini’s, for making such a special day so memorable!

Absolutely delicious food!!! This place is truly a hidden gem and well worth travelling down to Diggers Rest for. It's adjacent to the Diggers Rest train station which is convenient if you don't drive. If you do, it's a beautiful drive with a carpark at the rear of the restaurant. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was to die for. Thank you Houdinis!!!

The food is absolutely delicious compliments to the chefs and your staff are each highly professional Every time we go to Houdinis the atmosphere is happy and welcoming wait staff attentive but not rushing you menu always offering absolutely melt in your mouth Italian cuisine
Yesterday we bought our friends from CBD. And enjoyed a long lunch with amazing scallops and oyster entrees garlic prawns on rice crumbed veal with vegetables Chicken snitzels n vegetables with cold beer really lovely Australian wines topped off with one of Houdinis signature cocktails “Toblerone “ Thank you for a really enjoyed very long lunch 😍

i had never eaten here before but my partner and i made a last minute reservation here about 40 minutes before closing and the staff were so accommodating, even late at night many people were still dining which shows how nice this place is. i had penne and my partner had a parma, both meals were delicious and the wait times were great. the atmosphere is so cute and rustic, it feels like a comforting and friendly place. everything was beautiful from the staff to the food, would definitely recommend. ☺️

I went to Houdini Restaurant & Cocktail Bar with a group of friends for their Indian buffet. We were immediately impressed by the variety and the fresh, aromatic dishes laid out. From the creamy butter chicken to the perfectly spiced lamb curry, every dish was packed with flavor. The naan was soft and warm, and the rice complemented the curries perfectly. We couldn’t resist going back for seconds, and everyone left completely satisfied, chatting about how great the meal was. It was definitely a memorable experience!
