Sadly this will be the last time I purchase pizza from Sampes.
I stopped a little while ago because the prices were put up and the pizzas were smaller.
Tonight I gave them another shot. I could tell carrying the box home that the pizza felt light.
Honestly it tastes ok. But a large pizza is generally 12" and 8 slices. This pizza is 10" (I measured it) and costs more than other shops in the area which don't give you undersized pizzas.
Pretty disappointing guys, you used to be one of the best in the area.
$22.85 for a medium sized, mid tasting pizza and a can of coke zero. Smh what a rip off

The Best Pizza… and Possibly the Love of My Life
I don’t usually write reviews, but Sampes in Mooroolbark absolutely deserves the praise.
From the moment you walk in, there’s this warm, welcoming energy that makes you feel right at home. The smell of freshly baked pizza, the hustle and buzz of the kitchen, and the friendly team behind the counter—it all sets the tone for a genuinely great experience. The pizzas? Unreal. Perfectly crispy base, generous toppings, and flavours that actually hit. You can tell they care about quality and take pride in what they do.
Now… about Nathan.
This man isn’t just good at making pizza—he’s a whole experience. Friendly, charismatic, ridiculously helpful, and somehow manages to remember everyone’s name and order like it’s second nature. Watching him work is like watching art happen. He has this spark—like he loves being there, and it makes you love being there too. And okay, I’ll say it:
I think I’m in love with him. 💘
Is that unprofessional for a review? Maybe. Do I care? Not really. Because Sampes didn’t just serve me the best pizza I’ve had in years… they also served me a little crush in the form of Nathan.
So yes—go for the pizza, stay for the vibes… and Nathan.
10/10. Will be back. Probably tomorrow.

The best pizzas - so much choice, generous toppings, well-priced. Quick and friendly service. They are always so busy which speaks for itself, yet very friendly and prompt.

Order online was easy to make and delivery came way before set time. Food was great.
One drink was missing but the driver came back with a bottle as an apology. Fantastic service. This is why we always use Sampes !

Pizza was delicious AND gluten free. The delivery guy was so courteous and even offered to help me with my dog who was a bit dopey still from sedation after surgery. Such genuine kindness! You're an amazing young man, thank you 🙏
