I visited Sweet India, Hoppers Crossing for the first time after checking Google reviews, which showed a 4.3/5 rating from around 2,064 reviews. Based on this strong reputation, I trusted the shop and decided to try it. I specifically ordered fresh jalebi and was told to wait 30 minutes for it to be prepared. I waited patiently and brought it home expecting proper freshness and sweetness. Unfortunately, the jalebi was extremely sour instead of sweet. I tasted it myself to confirm, and it was completely inedible. Jalebi should never taste sour — this clearly indicates fermentation, incorrect sugar syrup, or serious quality control failure. I had bought this for someone special, and they also described it as terrible. This was embarrassing and very disappointing, especially after trusting the shop’s high Google rating. By the time we discovered the issue, the shop was already closed, so returning it was not even possible. The other two items in the order were fine, which makes this experience even more frustrating — the problem was clearly with the jalebi. This review is being posted so the management understands the seriousness of this issue. “Fresh” does not mean sour, and food like this should never be served or sold. Proper tasting and quality checks before packing are clearly required. This experience did not match the reputation shown in the reviews, and I hope the management takes responsibility and improves their standards.
