Mr Chips Fish and Chips

Popped in for a quick snack and was very pleased with the results, very affordable and great value for money. Fish N Chips were pretty tasty as well. Not many places these days you get a seafood snack pack for $15.

I just wanted a quick Fish and Chip fix tonight, but it was Monday night when most of the chip shops are closed - except Mr Fish and Chips in Diamond Creek wasn't. I have never been there before as it's the 4th Fish and Chip shop on my route. I phoned in my order and arrived 10 minutes later, I only had to wait 3 minutes. The flake was sensational, the dim sims cooked to perfection , nice and crispy , same with the potato cakes and they gave me an extra potato cake. The flake ( gummy )was nice and thick with beautiful white meat and lovely crispy batter . He obviously changes his oil frequently.The owner was very friendly and chatty. Might be a one off, but will give them another go down the track.

Most of the order was overcooked/inedible (scallop on right in photo), there was a large bone in the mini flake (on left), everything tasted of burnt/old oil, and gastro hit a few hours after eating what little was edible. Not to mention the 50c surcharge for an order over $20. Will never, ever buy from there again.

The worst fish and chips we have ever had! They were burnt and the potato cakes had no potato in them. I just don’t understand how anyone can charge for this and box this up. Extremely disappointed to have spent money on this.
