Bal Bakes is amazing 🤍 The café has such a cozy and welcoming vibe, and the cakes are absolutely delicious 🧁 Everything tastes fresh and homemade. I tried the sticky date drink and it was incredible—rich, comforting, and perfectly sweet ☕🍯 I’ll definitely be coming back again. Highly recommend! 💫

Bal Bake's atmosphere is absolutely stunning with a cohesive industrial luxury feel, which was very immersive and impressively executed. The raw concrete mixed with subtle curves and custom curtains tied the theme together. The aesthetic of the cafe therefore resulted in some confusion in the service of the food, which didn't necessarily share the same appeal. These are small gripes - paper towel rather than plates to share cake, tea served as a cup with a tea bag rather than a pot with additional milk. We shared a mocha cake which was reasonably nice, similar to a brownie, with what we thought was topped with whipped mascarpone but rather was whipped cream. The Ruben sandwich was quite delicious ($14), and notably Bal Bakes is halal! The coffee was certainly standard with a reasonable $4.50 price for a small. Overall I'd recommend visiting Bal Bakes for the chique aesthetic and I'll reserve full judgement on the food if we try the full menu, which is available only after 4pm.

I’ve been to this café before and had the ice strawberry matcha — the lady who served me last time was very friendly. I even recommended the place to my friends. That’s why I decided to come again today when I passed by. Unfortunately, today’s experience was really disappointing. I arrived around 3:30 pm and ordered two drinks and two cakes. I specifically asked for one ice strawberry matcha, and when the lady asked if I wanted syrup and whipped cream, I said no syrup, but yes to whipped cream. I also clearly said that I wanted the “strawberry”matcha. When the drink came, I realized there was no strawberry part at the bottom — it was just matcha and milk. I’m not sure if it was because they were about to close, but even the milk tasted different from last time, maybe used the low-fat milk. I took one sip and honestly it tasted awful. I really didn’t want to be rude, but since it was a $12 drink, it felt wasteful to throw it away after just a few sips. So I asked the staff why there was no strawberry puree when I clearly ordered the ice “strawberry”matcha. She told me it was because I said no syrup — that the strawberry puree at the bottom was considered syrup. To be honest, her response felt dishonest and disappointing. You’re losing customers not because your food or drinks are expensive or of low quality, but because of dishonest responses and poor communication. Definitely my last time coming to this café.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely loved Bal Bakes! The food is fresh, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. Every bite was delicious, and the coffee was spot on — smooth, rich, and perfectly brewed. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and the staff are friendly and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. Easily one of my go-to spots for great food and amazing coffee. Highly recommend!

Consistently good coffee. Their strawberry matcha is good too, and they have other fun drink options. Cakes and desserts always look tempting! Have ordered them for many birthdays. Beautiful interior and staff always accommodating to our young kids who frequently visit for babychinos with colourful sprinkles.
