Wow. This is exactly what this neighbourhood needed. Artisinal pastries made right before our eyes. Divine sourdough and focaccia. I’ll be progressively trying every pastry in the cabinet but so far have had the seasonal pear danish, the cream & lemon curd bun and the almond croissant. Pastries were so flaky and you could taste the quality bitter used. The frangipane was divine. And the bun so light and fluffy. The mortadella focaccia was sublime. The focaccia was light and crisp on the outside and the filling was elite.

Pretty, pretty, pretty great bread! These bakers know their craft. Breath of fresh air for the area. Best sourdough around for miles. Go!!!

Edit:
I've been back to Elka MANY times now & I stand by my initial review that the food & coffee are delicious & the staff are super nice, but christ on a bike they need some better training & procedures to complete orders correctly & quickly. I hope they can improve this 🤞
A few more savouries without bacon/pig in them would be an extra bonus
Won't stop me coming back though
So excited to finally have a decent bakery in the area. I bought way too much but don't regret any of it. Cinnamon scroll, chicken sandwich & coffee were all excellent. Looking forward to the rosemary focaccia & chocolate brownie for tomorrow's lunch. Staff were lovely too. Will definitely be back regularly

I love a good bakery and cannot go past a cinnamon scroll with cream cheese icing. Elka’s are the best! Highly recommend the bacon and egg roll too. I’ll definitely be back to try more!

I had the Mortadella foccacia - it was absolutely delicious, as was the salted caramel pastry I had. The server was friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. It's not a very welcoming place in terms of seating, but the tastyfood makes up for it.
