Bola Bakes is a small yet thoughtfully curated brunch spot in the Airport West area, offering a warm and welcoming atmosphere. While the venue itself is modest in size, its tasteful décor and intimate setting give it a quiet charm that makes it feel inviting rather than cramped. What stands out most is the food. Although prices lean toward the higher end, the quality and execution largely justify the cost. The menu shows care and creativity, and the staff are consistently friendly, attentive, and happy to help, which adds to the overall experience. The space, though limited, is well styled and clearly designed with intention. A standout dish, and an easy recommendation, is their special carbonara, which is rich, indulgent, and exceptionally well done. That said, there are a few limitations to note. Accessibility can be inconvenient without a car; while the café is near Tram 59, it still requires a bit of effort to reach. Additionally, the venue’s small size means it can feel crowded during peak hours. Finally, as mentioned, pricing may not suit everyone, especially for casual or frequent visits.

Amazing food we and had the eggs benny and prawn scramble it was absolutely delicious. The Asian fusion twist on a classic dish was so well done, full of flavour and really unique. Everything tasted fresh and beautifully balanced, and the presentation was great too. Such a pleasant surprise and definitely a place I’d come back to if I’m in the area!

The Blanket Carbonara consisted of layers of al dente pasta sheets with a smooth creamy sauce and crispy bacon bits. Duck Waffles came with surprisingly fluffy waffles (these are usually an afterthought but Bola does this really well). A touch heavy handed on the hoisin sauce though but duck was a nice change to fried chicken. Tiramisu latte and Rose Latte was average but nicely presented. Gets busy on weekends and parking can get painful.

Easily my fave cafe in the western suburbs!! Have been here literally 3 times in 3 months so you know it’s good! Everything is so tasty, drinks have unique asian twists and they are pet friendly! Highly recommend their mentaiko pasta and any of their specialty drinks! (my fave is the dirty rose) They are usually quite busy so be prepared for a little wait during peak brunch time!

The vibe is cool—I love the pet photo wall. It has an industrial, factory-style look with very high ceilings. Unfortunately, it gets too crowded, so it’s extremely noisy and you can barely hear the music. The food was good. The squid ink pasta stood out—not too heavy, just right. The drinks, however, were a miss. I tried the Dirty Rose and found it quite odd; not for me, though that may come down to personal preference. Desserts were disappointing as well—the chocolate was overly sweet, and the yuzu cheesecake was the same.
