Love the bread and treats from here. All handmade, all on the day. Really good.

Went here with my brother around lunchtime today. We thought we’d give it a shot, as we’ve been meaning to try The Flour House for a little while. We work in an office close-by. I got the Iced Matcha and the Brekkie Burger. I’m not exactly sure how much the burger and drink cost, since my brother paid, but I paid him back $32. It’s a little expensive, and… that’s an issue. Because I wasn’t a huge fan of the burger or the matcha. The burger’s beef patty tasted like a rissole and seemed to have some kind of steak seasoning, which I didn’t love. But the bigger problem was that the patty was quite pink, bordering on rare, especially in the middle. Since we were on our lunch break, we didn’t have time to ask the staff to fix it. It took around 20 minutes to receive the burgers, so we were already pressed for time. Combine that with a runny yolk and… you can see why I’m a little iffy about a beef patty being served pink. It’s not like steak. It’s risky to serve a beef patty semi-cooked. I tried to eat around it, but I still ended up eating some of the pink beef mince. The bacon tasted nice, and everything else wasn’t bad and seemed fresh. But the patty is the engine of a burger. If it’s bad, it brings the whole thing down, no matter what fancy sauces are used or if the bread’s homemade with ingredients from the heavens above. The chips were nice and crisp. Not every chip was seasoned equally though—some were bland and had little to no salt. I’m not a matcha expert, but is it meant to taste this grassy and weird? Kind of like a strong kale or grassy note mixed with green tea. Very hard to drink, with some strong, strange flavours. Can’t recommend, sadly.

Very interesting breakfast and coffee shop, inside a bakery. Good menu, great coffee, and you can slice your own freshly baked loaf of bread to take home.

Amazing pastries and bread. Try the apple cider loaf! The service was great - the staff were friendly, helpful and patient. Good vibes with a spacious, warehouse style area.
