We had Christmas lunch here and what a lovely surprise it was when we walked in the door. The place had been decorated beautifully with Christmas decorations. We were then greeted warmly by staff and shown to our table with instructions on how things worked. The atmosphere had a festive feeling with food being layed out in abundance with everything you could possibly want from seafood to roasts and everything in between. The dishes were readily replenished when getting low and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Highly recommend this venue the food was delicious and the staff were fabulous.

Our family stayed at Sandbelt Club Hotel a few weeks ago during our first trip to Melbourne, and we had a very pleasant experience. The accommodation was comfortable and well maintained. As we arrived late at night and were a bit confused, a security guard kindly approached us, asked if we needed help, and guided us to his supervisor. The staff were very friendly, professional, and supportive, which made us feel welcome right away. Overall, a great stay and we appreciated the helpful service.

On the evening of January 7, my family and I visited the pokies at Sandbelt Hotel and experienced one of the most humiliating and unacceptable encounters I have had in decades. After entering, an elderly white male security guard asked for my ID. I am nearly 40 years old and cooperated without issue. After confirming my age, he then demanded ID from my father, who is in his 60s. When I asked why, the security guard stated that “you look like dangerous people.” This comment was shocking, offensive, and completely unjustified. It was 42°C that day, and we were dressed normally in short sleeves like any other customers. I explained that my father had not brought ID, as it never occurred to us that a man in his 60s would be required to carry it. From that moment on, the guard became openly hostile and aggressive, insisting that everyone must have ID or leave. I calmly said we would leave and not play there that night. In response, he said the venue did not care about losing customers and that we were not welcome. He then physically pushed me toward the exit and ordered both me and my elderly father to leave immediately. At the entrance, he continued threatening us, saying he would call the police and fine us if we did not leave immediately, repeatedly stating that it was private property and that he alone decides who is allowed inside. This was an extremely degrading experience. Staff behavior like this reflects very poorly on the venue and damages the reputation of any management trying to run a business professionally, especially in a difficult economic climate. I would strongly recommend locals avoid this venue and instead visit places in Brighton or Sandy, where the service is far more respectful and welcoming, and where customers are treated with basic dignity.

From the moment we were seated, she greeted us with a warm smile and genuine enthusiasm. What truly stood out was her attentiveness and ability to anticipate our needs without being intrusive. She checked in at just the right moments, ensuring we had everything we needed while maintaining a friendly and approachable demeanor. It’s clear she takes pride in her work and genuinely cares about providing a memorable experience for her guests. The service was prompt, and our orders were handled meticulously, contributing to a relaxing and enjoyable dining atmosphere. Overall, her exceptional service and friendly attitude made our visit to Sandbelt Hotel noteworthy. We left with smiles on our faces, eager to return, not just for the food but to be served by such a delightful young talent.

Had an overall great time at Sandbelt Hotel. Visited Melbourne for a trip and I'm glad I walked into this restaurant. Right from the ambience to the food, everything was lovely. A special shoutout to Binesh for explaining to us the hotel delicacies. Tried a whole lot of varieties and beef burger suggested by Binesh turned out to be our favourite. We'll keep coming back to this place again I'm sure.
