Attended Half Moon for a function and overall had a pretty good experience. The staff were really serviceable and on top of things throughout the event.
Food-wise, everything was decent — nothing bad, but nothing that really stood out either. The chicken they served was a bit on the dry side, but the beef made up for it — great texture and flavour. The focaccia bread came out in a huge serving and paired really nicely with the cultured butter. The marinated pickles were surprisingly good, and the kingfish was fresh and well balanced with the sauce it came in.
Chips and salad were both pretty ordinary, but they did the trick alongside everything else.
Overall, a solid Brighton pub experience — good atmosphere, friendly service, and enough solid bites to keep everyone happy.

I had a chai latte and was very good. I really enjoyed while I was taking some notes and enjoying with the music on the background.

Slaw was dry has no dressing and they gave me a side of ketchup with my slaw.. go figure that out. I had to ask for a side of Napoli sauce for the Parma as it was dry and hardly any sauce.

There’s a range of dining spaces here, we chose the dining room because we wanted somewhere quieter than the main bar. The food was top notch, particularly the octopus and the chicken. This was backed by great cocktails and it’s all served by wonderful staff.

We had a function in the central room last night and had a really positive experience! We had a cocktail party with canapés, the food was good and they catered well for several dietary requirements. Good selection of non-alcoholic cocktails and spirits which was great as we had several non-drinkers. Staff were friendly and the space was great with doors that fully open onto the outdoor deck. We had several compliments about our venue choice from people who didn’t know the area. Thanks again!
