A local friend brought me here. The bar is hidden on the rooftop of Curtin House, so you wouldn’t spot it without knowing.
The space is open and airy, with different seating areas that feel almost like a little playground for all personalities. Sitting here, I got to people-watch so many styles — fashion, haircuts, and nationalities. If you enjoy people-watching, you’ll love this spot.
The menu has a wide range: cocktails, mocktails, beers, and bar snacks like burgers, fries, mac and cheese, etc. Quality matches the price. I ordered the One Way Ticket (AUD 22) — totally my style: refreshing pandan notes, a touch of lime, and a creamy coconut finish.
The view faces the surrounding CBD buildings, slightly blocking the sky, but on warm sunny days, you can probably still catch the sky changing colors at sunset.

What a vibe.
Came here for a beer or for some food, whatever they had. When we got upstairs (level 7) on the balcony, there was a nice bar and some food offerings as well. There was a special for $22 for a Cheeseburger/Mushroom Burger, some frieds and a can of Balter. We got two and it was outstanding.
The dude who served us was super chill and it was a great experience. I would highly recommend dropping in during Mon-Fri working hours, as I imagine it would be packed otherwise.
Thank you to everyone and I look forward to visiting again soon! 😊

This rooftop bar at Curtin House is such an amazing place. It has quite an industrial look and in the evening it gets very busy with especially students. Nevertheless it is a great place to come as a tourist. The prices are reasonable and they have a very big menu.

Visited Rooftop Melbourne and really enjoyed the place. Great vibe, good burgers and nice view of the business district. Definitely worth a stop in a sunny day!

Overall, my visit to The Rooftop was really enjoyable. The venue has a great vibe, fantastic music, and the bartenders who were there when I arrived were super friendly. I got there around 3 PM and enjoyed the happy hour that kicked off at 4 PM, which was a nice perk.
The only reason I’m not giving a full five stars is one specific interaction that was a bit off. Towards the end of happy hour, I went back to the bar just a couple of minutes after it ended and jokingly mentioned I’d just missed it. One particular bartender—an Asian lady with a gelled hairstyle—responded in a way that felt a bit dismissive and kind of curt, basically telling me I’d had plenty of time to get the deal. It just came across as a little rude and put a slight damper on the experience.
In short, it’s a great spot and I’d still recommend it, but maybe a little more consistency in friendliness would make it perfect.
