Fable Melbourne delivers an exceptional experience from start to finish. The ambiance is stylish and welcoming, with a warm, contemporary vibe that sets the tone for an unforgettable meal. Service was attentive and professional, making the evening even more enjoyable.
The food is where Fable truly shines:
🥩 Spiced slow-cooked lamb shoulder – paired with pea puree, sunflower & parsnip puree for a rich, balanced flavor profile.
🐟 Pan-seared barramundi – complemented by split caper cream, Jerusalem artichokes & cherry tomatoes for a fresh, vibrant finish.
🧀 Saganaki – perfectly grilled, paired with grapes, pekmez & roquette for a sweet-savory balance.
🍴 Tasting plate – featuring eggplant and zucchini arancini with pesto and nutritional yeast, plus a garlic lamb tenderloin skewer with tzatziki dip. Each bite showcased bold flavors and refined elegance.
Every dish was thoughtfully composed and visually stunning—a true feast for both the eyes and the palate.

-The only small detail that saddened me was the box planter outside the window—the plant seemed to have died and wasn’t cared for. A little greenery, or simply removing it, would make the view even more perfect.

Omg this place was amazing!!! The service was impeccable. The cocktails were tantalising. The food…. The food was incredible and exquisite and most importantly it was all Gluten Free!!! I cannot rate this beautiful place and all the staff more highly. If you haven’t been here, then make it your mission to go! If you are not a coeliac it doesn’t matter you won’t notice the food is gluten free. The atmosphere was sensational the views were pretty and you could talk amongst the table without having to scream. Seriously you need to go to this amazing restaurant and bar. You won’t regret a thing. Thank you guys, you made our night and we will definitely be back again as soon as we can! 💗

Our recent visit to Fable in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD was nothing short of spectacular. We were seated on the rooftop by the window, and the beautiful view down over the city skyline set the mood perfectly.
We dined as a group and shared a variety of dishes, cocktails, skewers, risotto, cauliflower, scallops, and bread and dip, and every single item delighted. The cocktails were inventive and well crafted, while the food was flavourful and generous in portion. The risotto was creamy and rich, the scallops perfectly seared, the cauliflower had a brilliant texture and seasoning, and the skewers brought great flavour and presentation.
The ambience at Fable is stylish yet comfortable — you feel elevated (literally on the rooftop!) but not out of reach. The service was attentive without being overbearing, and staff made sure everything flowed smoothly. The setting truly felt special for a night out.
If you’re looking for a spot in Melbourne to relax with friends, enjoy share plates, sip refined cocktails and soak in an amazing view, Fable ticks all the boxes.

My cousin and I celebrated her birthday at Fable and had the chef’s set menu. It was a wonderful experience, each course was beautifully prepared and delicious.
The service was exceptional from start to finish. From the service to the food, everything was lovely. Neil took amazing care of us and went above and beyond by personalising my cousins dessert with a birthday message.
It was such a thoughtful and memorable surprise. We’ll certainly be visiting again!

Cute semi open roof top bar with lovely views. Have been here for evening drinks in the past, but did the bottomless brunch recently. AMAZING value, as the food was ample and delicious! Gin cocktails mostly and they allow two at a time, and a little flexible with the 2hr siting which was a pleasant surprise!
The one less star is for two reasons:
1. The venue needs a clean! The chairs had stains and I had never noticed these in the evening. There were drink marks all across the wall, and this at the very least could be easily cleaned.
2. Service was sllllooooow. Whilst they allowed 2 cocktails at a time, once we were done it was difficult to get their attention. The table next to us also complained about it, and were surprised as there werent too much tables occupied either. Regardless of speed, all staff were super lovely and were quickly forgiven.
Will definitely be back, and considering hosting our work function here too!
