Absolutely loved it here! The vibe was relaxed with great views over the bay. Service was excellent and the food and drinks were all delicious. We tried a selection of cocktails and tapas items and thoroughly enjoyed them all. Great flavours and well balanced. Will definitely be coming back!

We chose Ellora for dinner on a Friday night before a show at the Alex Theatre.
The venue is huge. We were lucky to grab a table on the upstairs balcony, as most of it was booked for a large group.
We arrived just before the end of Happy Hour, so I managed to get a delicious Espresso Martini for only $15. It was a big drink too. 😋
We decided to order a mix of small plates and went with the Mac and Cheese Croquettes, Chorizo, Spanish Meatballs, Buttermilk Chicken and Calamari.
Everything came out within about 15 minutes, which was impressive considering how busy they were. All of the dishes were very tasty. My favourite was the meatballs, while my boyfriend loved the chorizo.
The only dish that missed the mark for me was the calamari. It was a bit oily and didn’t have much flavour.
Overall, we left happy and very full. 🐷
Service was great. We were looked after by a Latino bar tender/waiter who was friendly and lovely. He even brought over a barstool so we could fit all the plates, since the table was a bit small.
The only downside was the behaviour of, I assume, the manager – a British guy – who spoke to the staff quite poorly in front of customers. It felt unprofessional and a little awkward, especially given how hard the team was working.
Aside from that, we really enjoyed Ellora. The food, the atmosphere with a live DJ and the stunning views over St Kilda Beach and Catani Gardens made for a great night.
We’ll be back.

Amazing rooftop spot in St Kilda with incredible sea views! Perfect for brunch or sunset drinks. The tapas-style bites like buttermilk chicken, chorizo, and truffle arancini are delicious, and the cocktails are next-level. Staff were super friendly and welcoming. Great vibe. will definitely be back a night out or Brunch!

We had a fabulous brunch at Ellora- it was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon. The cocktails were delicious and the food was plentiful! Our server Andrew was fantastic- nothing was a problem and he was friendly and engaging. Allergies were catered for with care and without a fuss. It was a great value fun afternoon! We will definitely be back soon.

A rooftop escape with cocktails, comfort food and sweeping views
Ellora is the kind of place that makes you pause mid-sip just to take in the view. Perched above St Kilda, it offers a stunning panorama of the bay, beach especially magical at sunset.
We tried a mix of cocktails and comfort food that hit all the right notes. The Beach Bonfire was smoky and citrusy with a playful twist, while the Espresso Martini and Cosmopolitan were beautifully balanced and served with flair.
Food-wise, Ellora leans into crowd-pleasers done right:
Creamy hummus with warm flatbread
Crispy buttermilk chicken with a golden crunch
Garlic flatbread that felt like a warm hug
Fries that vanished in minutes
BBQ chicken pizza- smoky, cheesy, and perfect for sharing
The vibe is relaxed yet elevated, with friendly staff and a space that feels both stylish and welcoming. Whether you are chasing cocktails with a view or just want to unwind with good food and great company, Ellora delivers.
Highly recommend for date nights, group hangs or anyone craving a rooftop moment that feels like a mini escape.
