Randomly came across this restaurant and thanks to the amazing staff who helped me making a reservation last minute! Seriously wanted to order everything on the menu!! Can tell how much effort had been put into each dishes to carefully select the ingredients, then match with the best dressing and flavours!! I would have tried more of the delicious cocktails if I wasn’t driving!! I couldn’t see the impressive view but the atmosphere was great, not too noisy, and the staff team was amazing!! The only thing was that where I sat was quite packed with very tight space for staff or other customers to manoeuvre.

The location, atmosphere and service was phenomenal However I unfortunately cannot say the same about the food. We ordered two smaller pastas and both were nothing special however the Amatriciana was particularly average as the pasta was crunchy and only half cooked. As a main we shared the Ragu Bianco and it again tasted low quality and rushed. I understand that they were busy and it would be hard to expect everything to be perfect however for the price and the vibe we sort of prepared for a nicer culinary experience. The drinks where nice tho As well there was at 10% weekend surcharge which is more than fair enough but if your someone who is reading reviews to know what it’s like you should keep that in mind. The seating was also a bit crowded. However the waiters and the service were wonderful. Veiws were breathtaking and atmosphere was lovely. I would recommend and definitely come back for drinks and their snack menu on the rooftop but I would definitely discourage people from going for a meal.

Amatrice is a lovely Italian restaurant situated 10 floors up with great views of Richmond and Melbourne. This place is not fine dining but upscale Italian food done as share food with some simple but effective nuances. The mini lasagna is piece is amazing and unique in more ways than one. Mushroom croquet, tick. Carbonara pasta isn't your typical carbonara, but amazing, simple and well done. Fries are on point with a smoked chicken salt. The tiramisu here isn't really a tiramisu, more a creme cake with a small hint of coffee, but again, light and delicious, just not tiramisu. Good wine list and drink options, wait staff are hit and miss, but the good ones make it worth it. All in all a good Italian experience in a relaxed atmosphere with top views. Worth a visit and be open minded to share and have a new take of flavour and delivery

Beautiful sunset view with decent Italian cuisine. Use of high quality ingredients is slightly let down by its execution of their dishes. - Bass grouper crudo 4/5 - Carbonara 4.25/5 - Mushroom croquette 4.5/5 - Prawn tartare, sorrel, stracciatella ink fettuccini 4/5 - campofilone ragu w wagyu beef, pork, tomato & salsa verde 3/5 - eggplant parmigiana 4.5/5 - veal cotoletta 3.5/5 - fish of the day 3/5 - Fries 5/5 - Tiramisu 3.25/5 - Lava cake 3.75/5 - Boboloni 2/5 - Sgroppino (strawb rose gelato, strawberry vodka, prosecco, rose) 4.5/5 Loved their carbonara, mushroom croquette and eggplant parmigiana block the most! Fish crudo was refreshing, sweet yet interesting with the wafer. Squid ink was a pool of umami, which my friends felt it was a bit too much and wet. Veal cutlet was not bad, but not as juicy as I’d like. Desserts were okay, surprisingly loved the choc lava cake the most! Do not get donuts ehh. Think what ruined most of our time here is their service. Seems like there were not enough staff to accommodate for the number of patrons there. Many times we called for assistance but were not attended to until we got up. Had to wait 30 minutes for my booking even though we came earlier which I understood. Overall, so much potential to grow in terms of food and service in order to match the sunset glow. I was a bit confused with their a la carte set menu but it just means that there’s flexibility around the table!

I enjoyed every moment at amatrice, the food was amazing, the atmosphere was amazing, the music wasn’t too loud, the view was amazing, the rooftop being open was such a vibe, and I especially want to thank Richard for how thoughtful and attentive he was the entire evening. He really made the entire experience that much better. I would definitely come here again. The only issue was the parking as there isn’t much around here.
