Amazing atmosphere with warm, friendly, and welcoming vibes. The food and drinks (expesially at the Ohtak bar) were absolutely top-notch, and the service was outstanding from start to finish. Everything felt special and thoughtfully done. Highly recommend this place for a special occasion or simply for a lovely night or lunch out with no reason at all - just great food and great energy! I’ve been there a few times with both small and large groups, and every visit has been fantastic. Definitely coming back. This is the way you can easily travel to Ukraine without leaving Australia.

Visited Otakoi on our Melbourne trip , that was number one on our to do list . The food was absolutely fantastic , truly felt like I am back home in Ukraine 💛. The atmosphere , decorations and dishes were truly wonderful. The only part that fell short for us was the service unfortunately, the staff was extremely busy , as the restaurant was full on Friday night . We hardly could catch staff to get their attention and when ordered another round of nalyvka unfortunately it never came. After waiting for 20 minutes and did not have an opportunity to explore desserts we left . Regardless of this unfortunate event , we really enjoyed Otakoi and definitely will be back when in Melbourne again !

I dined here with a Russian friend and we absolutely loved the flavours, everything tasted just like back home! I only wish the portions were more generous, like in our Slavic homelands, because the food was that good. The service was warm and welcoming, although a bit on the slow side. Still, the beautiful ambience and decor made the wait worthwhile. The place looks great, and I’m already planning to come back to try more dishes. And hey the tripe crêpes dessert is heaven. 😍

Otakoi centres itself around beautiful and friendly service paired with true Ukranian food done well. The fitout is beautiful, relaxing and peaceful. It gets busy here but the sound is easy enough to talk, and it feels homely like a large family dinner. The food is a true repret of Ukranian dishes and all done with high quality ingredients. The pickled tomatoes are even imported from Ukraine. Their is plenty to enjoy with a solid list of starters, salads, smallas and main. Definitely leave room for dessert too as you'll want to try most of them. Serviceable drinks list and byo as well. We'll be back as it's so good to have such beautiful crafted food like I grew up with

Family Friendly

We had a wonderful experience at Otakoi. So many culinary highlights - theBorsch, the Charcuterie Ukrainian Style, the Varenyky Tasting Plate and the Beef Rib in Plum Sauce. We were given some Honey Cake, for my friend’s birthday. Which was a lovely surprise. The flat red coffee was delicious as was the Vyshnivka (Sour Cherry) Spritz. I will definitely be back!
