Went to this pub to watch a game and ended up being blown away by the food! The atmosphere was lively, the staff were friendly, and everything we ordered was surprisingly delicious — way above your typical pub food. Great place to grab a drink, enjoy the game, and have an awesome meal all in one spot!

A really nice pub, especially when it's quiet, with one of the best rooftops east of the city. It can get very crowded on AFL days - plan your visit around the AFL schedule, depending on how busy you like it. The food is pretty standard for an Australian pub but good. My favourite things on the menu so far have been the burger, the beef brisket lasagna, and the barramundi. In fact, the burger has been fantastic recently.

I had a the chicken parma, and also some wedges. Wedges were really good - crispiest ones I’ve had I think and soft as in the middle. Parma was okay, nothing amazing - the sauce seemed pretty basic and kinda tasted like a basic pasata but it did the job. A good selection of beers on tap, a just of pale ale went for $30. The venue is nice - very big and some good outdoor areas when it’s sunny. Nice open areas inside too.

Don’t usually give reviews but I was there on Saturday night and the customer service was really awful and wanted to mention it. The manager and her colleague made us feel small and were rude to the point where we didn’t feel welcome in the pub. We were there to celebrate a birthday and it was a shame to be made to feel like that. Can’t fault the food and the atmosphere though.

Mt View Hotel is one of the best all-round pubs in Richmond – the kind of place that works whether you’re after a casual beer with mates, a hearty meal, or a night out with a bit of atmosphere. It’s got that classic pub feel but with a modern polish that makes it stand out from the crowd. The rooftop is a real highlight. It has great views over Richmond, plenty of space, and a buzzing vibe without feeling cramped. It’s the perfect spot on a sunny afternoon with a cold drink in hand. The main bar downstairs has a welcoming atmosphere too – warm, lively, and exactly what you’d hope for in a good local pub. The food is excellent. Proper pub classics, cooked well and with generous portions. The parma is a standout – golden crumb, plenty of cheese, and served with chips that are crisp and moreish. The burgers are just as good, stacked high and full of flavour. There are also some lighter options, which makes it easy to find something for everyone. Drinks-wise, there’s a solid range of beers on tap, good wines, and cocktails that are well made without being over the top. It’s the kind of place where you know whatever you order will be done properly. The staff are friendly, efficient, and keep things running smoothly even when it’s packed. Service is quick but never rushed, and you always feel looked after. Mt View is one of those Richmond staples – reliable, fun, and easy to recommend whether you’re a local or just visiting. A true all-rounder of a pub.
