Great pub been going for years even before the renos but the staff / service is just always below average especially in the front bar. On this occasion We stood at the bar for ages waiting to be served but completely ignored buy the Irish man at the bar on 27th dec he only wanted to serve the men or his mates. We did attempt to get his attention many times but he was in his own world - We had one round and this was us getting our next but we ended up leaving. Was such a shame. Love the pub but please check your service.

The Fifth Province feels like a place built for a slow Sunday. You walk in and the room gives you a lift. Warm light. Soft hum of people who look like they want to be there. The staff move with purpose. They see you. They listen. They care. Your pint lands on the table with a tight creamy head. You take a sip and know someone behind the bar still respects Guinness. The roast hits the table fast. The beef looks right. You cut in and it holds its shape. Good seasoning. Proper trimmings. It tastes like someone paid attention. Then the chicken arrives. You cut in and the knife drags through dry meat. No juices. No comfort. A roast chicken should feel simple and honest. This one felt like it had been waiting too long. It takes the air out of the meal. The room deserves better. The staff deserve better. A place with this kind of energy should serve food that matches it. When a venue sits in the same group as Angus and Bon you expect tighter standards. You expect care on every plate. You leave thinking the bones of a great Sunday are here. They just need the kitchen to rise to the same level as the bar and the people who run it.

Food was nice and the venue is great the service was woeful particularly by the bar staff. Halfway through an order they were trying to serve another person instead of finishing my order and then I was passed to another bartender to pay. My wifes drink then got forgotten until they were prompted. I was kind and polite but was met with staff that would rather be anywhere else than serving me. Not a great Sunday arvo.

Loved this place . Came on Saturday and they are having live music and it was awesome!!! The building looks very cozy and the food was delicious. Had beef stew and my hubby had the burger . The beef stew was perfectly cooked!!

Had the most incredible Sunday roast tonight! One of the best I’ve had in a long time! Everything was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was amazing! Loved the live music! Was so much fun and made it the perfect spot to catch up with friends over a delicious meal. Will be back so soon!!
