Went for the first time today and I didn’t know how quick to get out of there. The men’s showers had no privacy was like a prison style shower system. The place was absolutely disgusting rust all over the salt water pool, very weird crowd. I ended up at the beach behind it instead.

Very interesting concept of a swimming pool. Filled with salt water (presumable from the ocean) it is nice to swim in their 25m pool, but if you’re coming to practice your open water skills this won’t cut the mustard 😉
The water is a bit warmer than your average swimming pools and you can’t really swim for that long because the salt water will start getting to you but if you do practice, there is an option to unwind in their hot pool with a view of the ocean and a steam room.
$15 entry + $3 locker hire was a bit more than I expected but a pretty cool thing to try out if you’re in the area!

The St Kilda sea baths owned by South Pacific….I love it, but also, it’s gross!
There’s a scum line on the spa about 1cm wide at the top of the water line rim. Rarely cleaned. Dirty change rooms and steam room falling apart, their “revamp” of the steam room was non existent.
I go because I love the views, and the community, and I’m grateful for what we DO have, it’s very unique. But i’d be more than happy to pay slightly higher prices for a cleaner sleeker environment! It just could be really amazing if they put a bit of work in.

St Kilda Sea Baths is a unique swimming pool where you can experience the pleasure of bathing in salt water that has been derived directly from the sea and heated to a soothing temperature - Right by the ocean! They have a heated 25-meter seawater pool, hydrotherapy spa pool, unisex aromatherapy steam room and a lounge area offering magnificent views of the bay. - Hamish John Appleby // APPLEBY PHOTOGRAPHY
