Very very good! Ordered the Wigan Casino with curry sauce. First time having curry with fish n chips and now i wish its something we offer back home in California!
Seating options are few and cramped so I decided to do takeaway, walk a bit and have it by the beach. The vinegar did soften parts of the crispness of the fish by the time I reached a place to sit (i thought the vinegar would come on the side) but that did not compromise the taste! Fish was so fresh and perfectly battered and fried! Staff was nice and friendly.

Always great good and lovely staff - yes sometimes wait times may be longer but can’t blame em!! They’re a small biz and deserve All the success and popularity. They are always very generous with portion sizes and we’ve been back many times, can’t wait for our next chippy from them!!!

Arrived at 11:55am on a sunny Saturday and there were already 12 groups in front of us. We got to the front after 15mins to order. After ordering were advised that it would be ~20 mins wait for food. We waited at the tables outside to the right of the shop. After 20mins, we went back in for our order but the people at the start of the queue were only starting to receive their orders. There were so many people waiting inside the small store and it felt a bit hectic. It ended up being a 45min wait for our food to arrive unfortunately. They really need to work on a better kitchen workflow and a more efficient way for customers to order and collect orders. It all feels a bit messy at the moment.
Anyway, food was delicious but not worth the queues. The spice pack was delicious and crispy but not something I crave or really want to eat often. The curry sauce was really good though. Didn’t enjoy the prawn crackers as they were tasteless but good for texture only with the spice pack.
The potato cake wasn’t to my taste, the batter was salty and thick, but light and airy, and the potato inside was fluffy, but I prefer the classic potato cake where there is more crunch on the outside and a more scalloped solid potato inside.
The fish was the highlight - similar batter to the potato cake but crunchier and the fish was perfectly cooked. The gravy was strong in flavour and really reminded me of the London flavour. I wish I also got some mushy peas with it. The Tartare sauce was also great. Chips were pretty good too.
Portions for the mains are huge and should be shared between 2 people or more.
Order online next time then come for the pick up. Great food but not worth the long queues or going out of your way for imo.

Nailed an amazing meal out of trying spiced back chip shop in St Kilda. Food was delicious, chips and fried sausage was crunchy. Spiced are evenly coating the chicken and the curry dip was amazing. What a place to get your spice bag. Store Location is tricky for parking as council restriction is in play, but definitely worth the visit. Recommended.

Travelled an hour to try this out.
The food did not disappointment. Our reaction when we saw the crispness on the fish would have been priceless. I love my flake, but this Hake was amazing. Everything was delicious.
Although the menu board doesn't show you, you can order things separately and not as a meal.
The fish was the winner, but I also really enjoyed the salt and pepper chips. The sauces were good, and the English person we had with us, commented like home The service was good.
Only enough seating for 8 inside and 3 small tables outside.
Totally loved the whole experience, except for parking, it is a challenge.
