There are many great things about this restaurant. The taste of the food and the portion sizes are both excellent and really stand out. We ordered a variety of dishes, including pizza, pasta, and the chicken parmigiana. The chicken parmigiana in particular was huge , based on the size alone, it easily felt like a meal meant for at least two people.
The I Am Angus pizza was absolutely amazing in terms of flavor, and the pasta was also very well done and satisfying. Everything we tried tasted fresh and was clearly prepared with care. The waitstaff were polite, friendly, and attentive, which added to the overall positive experience.
The only downside is how busy the restaurant gets. There was a queue out the front, and even with just three people, it took about half an hour to be seated. While the food is definitely worth the wait, it’s something to keep in mind if you’re short on time. Overall, a great place with fantastic food and generous portions.

I’ve been coming to Universal Restaurant for over 4 years, ever since I was a university student, and the quality has remained absolutely perfect. The chicken parmigiana and schnitzel are consistently amazing, just like the first time I tried them. Every portion is generous—easily enough for two people. I will always come back here for the parma; it’s honestly the best quality I’ve ever had in Victoria. I recommend this place to all my friends without hesitation.

Staff were polite, friendly and helpful. Although we ordered via the QR code they were happy to answer questions and check things for my allergies. They have a great vibe.
The food is delicious and generous servings. I had the chicken schnitzel. Which had a side of crispy chips and fresh coleslaw. The coleslaw was finely shredded and the dressing was light, refreshing and creamy. It was just the right amount, and not too gloopy, not too runny. The perfect consistency.
The mushroom sauce was rich and creamy. I accidentally ordered extra sauce, thought it might be too much when I saw how big a cup it was, but it was so good I finished both cups. The schnitzel was juicy and tender, and the crumb coating has a satisfying crunch.
It was packed inside when we got there so we sat outside. Both inside and outside had a comfortably warm and welcoming vibe. Everyone was quite happy and there was a decent level of chatter, but I didn't feel like I had to raise my voice to talk to my friend.
The tables both inside and outside were sturdy wood tables that felt stable and reliable. The chairs were comfortable too.

Certainly the most popular place on the block on a Tuesday night.
Very welcoming and friendly staff, who have excellent attitude.
The menu is quite broad, wait times was quite good considering the busyness of the place.
Garlic bread was hot and fresh.
Chicken schnitzel was quite big, big enough to cut in half and take home. One of the biggest I've seen.
The taste itself was quite average but considering the price and portion worthy of four stars.
Manager on check out was keen to hear how things were.
Prices quite reasonable.
Well worth the visit.

This restaurant is spectacular! I was so incredibly impressed by how efficient the service was and how delicious the food ended up being. I grabbed the universal special and made a couple changes to the sauce and it was delicious! I got the smaller version and even still that was a very generous and filling serving. The crust was crunchy, there was plenty of chicken, the seasoning and sauce was rich, it was overall so delicious. Not to mention the pastas are such great value. Service was also spectacular and the staff really make you feel accommodated and welcome. This is such a great restaurant I will 100% be coming back in the future.
