Walked in at 5pm.
Food was ok, but i am fussy when it comes to my steak, especially with all these great reviews.
The medium rare eye fillet was cold, and the well done eye fillet was still red on the inside and had to be taken back and charred again - refer to photo.
The scallops had an overwhelming fishy smell but were good, the sauce was amazing though.
Advice for the ladies when serving the food.
Check if your customers have cutlery to eat, I shouldn’t have to go get it myself.
Offer salt or even mustard to enhance the experience. A normal pub offers this basic service.
Food did come out quick which was great.

Butchers prime and I must say this is the best lunch I ever had. The scallops was so delicious. Probably one of the best steak in Melbourne . Gina is a great server . Very few restaurant who treat customers like family. I will definitely come back when I visit Melbourne next.

We had the most amazing dinner. Any meat cut for your main course will make you happy, but the lamb ribs I got as a starter were the best I ever had. Chocolate hazelnut dessert was delicious.

I visited this restaurant twice, and both times the experience was consistently impressive. The service is one of the highlights, staff are friendly, attentive, and make sure everything runs smoothly without ever overstepping.
On my first visit I had the rib eye, and on the second I tried the Wagyu scotch. Both were cooked with real precision. The rib eye was tender, juicy, and full of flavour, while the Wagyu scotch was exceptionally rich, perfectly cooked, and easily one of the best steaks I’ve had in Melbourne.
It’s clear the kitchen puts a lot of care into the quality of the meat and how it’s prepared. Combined with the reliable, professional service, it makes for a consistently enjoyable dining experience. If you’re a steak lover, this place should definitely be on your list. Five stars.

I had high hopes for Butchers Prime, but unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite live up to the reputation.
The team were kind enough to offer a discount when I expressed my disappointment at payment, which I genuinely appreciated, but I still feel it’s fair to be honest in my review.
I chose to sit outside since the view was nice and there were outdoor heaters, while the inside area felt very noisy and loud.
I ordered a few dishes: the steak, salad, chips and mushroom sauce, oysters, beef carpaccio, and spicy salmon tartare with crispy rice chips.
As someone who loves oysters, I was disappointed that they were served warm and didn’t taste particularly fresh. The steak, which I asked for medium rare, arrived cold and had to be reheated. The salmon tartare lacked flavour, and I therefore had to ask for salt to make it enjoyable.
The beef carpaccio was one of the better dishes of the night, although the slices were thicker than I’d typically prefer. The sides were average, and the mushroom sauce oddly tasted a bit like curry sauce.
Perhaps it was just a busy night, but at this price point I think quality and consistency should be a given regardless of how full the restaurant is. The place has potential with its great location and friendly staff, but it needs more attention to detail in the kitchen to meet the expectations that come with its name and prices.
