Verdict from all visits πŸ† Tres leche cake ⭐️ Carrot cake ⭐️ Pecan & bourbon pie ⭐️ Keylime pie ⭐️ Cheese steak sandwich πŸ‘ Basque cheese cake πŸ†— Pizza slice πŸ†— Pistachio cream croissant πŸ˜• Pastel chocolate cake πŸ˜• Red velvet Third visit: It was so busy and had a long queue but moves very quickly. We always have to get the tre leche cake, but we also tried the carrot cakeβ€”it was stunning, and the cream cheese custard pastry, and pizza slice which were goodish okay. Service is always friendly and amazingg! Second visit: We tried the cheese steak sandwich which was delicious but a bit smaller than expected. The downside was that we found a massive piece of plastic from a what looks like a takeaway box in there which was a shame. We also tried the basque cheesecake which was good but not amazing, the pecan bourbon tart and keylime pie which were both incredible! First visit: Loved the tres leches cake! Pistachio cream croissant shell was a bit hard but filling was tasty. Disappointed with the red velvet as the icing almost had a rubbery texture and don’t recommend it. Will be back to try the other cakes and pastries though

Nevermind the West. This might be the best, overall bakery in all of Melbourne. The tres leches was wet and juicy with just the right texture. The humble beef meat pie was sublime, rich and crusty. The chocolate cake and butterscotch pie were decadent yet not too sweet. The array of breads also looked inviting. And the coffee was err...decent. Queue management, despite the influx of customers, was also admirable. Service can be lacklustre, where one young staff member seemed a bit lost and vapid, and another got our take away orders wrong (twice) but they may be trainees; moreover, the place does get busy, so I will not put it against them. Besides, Candied's goodies are worth travelling, queuing and suffering for.

Visited on a weekend and bought a number of sweets from the cabinet to try: - Hazelnut croissant: the presence of hazelnut was very noticeable; rich and nutty which paired well with the sweet chocolate - Strawberry white chocolate danish: a classic strawberries and cream combination done well; strawberries were fresh and sweet with no tartness - Pistachio cream croissant: the pastry was very good; flaky with a sweet buttery taste. However wasn't fond of the pistachio cream which was thick and gooey rather than having a smooth and creamy texture - Dulce de leche caramel tart: the tart pastry was buttery and extra flaky and crispy, and the filling was not too sweet, but similar to the pistachio cream croissant, did not really enjoy the texture of the cream - Baklava scroll: the outer layers were very flaky and the centre had a pleasant chewy texture contrasting with the crunchy pistachio. The scroll was glazed with a sweet rosewater syrup which was a bit overpowering; sweetness level was fine but preferred if the rosewater fragrance was subtle - Tres Leches three milk cake: the milk soaked sponge cake was pretty good but does get quite one dimensional with the sweet milky flavour - Key lime pie: it was creamy with a sweet and vibrant zesty citrus flavour which was nice but the nutmeg spice in the tart was a bit too strong for my taste - Pecan & bourbon pie: it was fragrant and nutty with a rich caramelised maple syrup like sweetness; pretty tasty Overall it was a pretty good bakery store. Favourites were the hazelnut croissant, strawberry danish and the pecan pie.

Celebrated my birthday here and everything felt cozy and delicious. The pastries were freshly baked, the sandwich was packed with flavour, and the pie had a perfectly flaky crust. Such a nice spot with plenty of treats to choose from β€” a sweet way to start another year.

To say this place is busy would be an understatement! We stopped by on a Sunday afternoon and it was absolutely packed and had a big line of people ordering takeaway as well. The red velvet cake was hands down the best red velvet cake I have ever had. It was super moist and the balance of the icing was perfection. Very rarely do I get a dessert of a quality that I can't make myself, but this was definitely it! My husband had the apple crumble which he really enjoyed as well, but it really didn't hold a candle to the red velvet. The coffee and hot chocolate were both really good. The service was good too! Will definitely be back to try some of the other items on the menu, the pies and sausage rolls looked fantastic.
