⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️(4.5/5) Overall: solid almond croissant at a good price Came to Gordon Street Bakery on a Sunday less than an hour before closing for their almond croissant after seeing this place recommended on Instagram and we were the only customers. I was very pleased to see this place charging $6.5 for their 🥐 almond croissant in this economy and with no weekend or Sunday surcharge!! The croissant was massive and heavy as well. Taste wise, it was so buttery and so flaky and the filling was generous and delicious. Would’ve been an easy 5/5. However, it was too greasy for me. The oil soaked through the brown paper bag. I know croissants are rich in butter and are not meant to be healthy or anything, but I don’t expect anything that’s not deep-fried to be so oily that the bag becomes see-through. It wasn’t just the bottom either, the pastry overall was quite oily. That said, the croissant was so tasty and I’d happily eat it again.

Came here around 10am on a weekday and this place has a good steady flow of customers from the nearby hospital. Parking is a bit hard to juggle but is possible to find some on the street. We had the cinnamon roll and the chocolate croissant. It was flavour and crunchy, it was so good we had birds picking off the crumbs as we ate on the bench in front of the store. All their baked goods are made on site but hand, clearly a sign of confidence as they close at 1230. Most bakeries close at 2pm.

Best Almond Croissant in Melbourne? Well at least the best one I have tasted so far. The combination of crispy pastry and buttery and moist fillings is just amazing. My only complain is they close too early. Highly recommended.

The pastries here are absolutely amazing. The chocolate almond croissant blew my mind and makes for a delicious mess! However, I’ve ordered a coffee there this morning and it was burnt… like really bad. I also have noticed they always have flies around, so an improvement in their hygiene would be good!

Most of the store was taken up by the kitchen. The reception area showcased the available bakes. Greeted and served by warm and friendly staff upon entering. Plain and almond croissants were both good. I thought the baguette was even better. Fougasse was a little too oily, though.
