I've tried over 10 places in Melbourne, but this place definitely makes the best banh mi. So much meat for $9, unbelievable

I’ve tried a lot of banh mi in my life, but this one is absolutely the best... number 1, no question. It’s so good it’s literally making me gain weight, because every time I walk past the place I have to stop and get one. Totally worth it!

I cant believe how much the quality of banh mi has declined here. As a loyal customer for over a decade, I would only purchase my banh mi from this bakery. I wasn't overly impressed after my last couple of visits here but thought I would give it one more chance. I will never come back again. I ordered 2 BBQ chicken and 1 crispy pork. In the good old days we used to get grilled vietnamese lemongrass chicken. It has been replaced with chinese style BBQ marinade where the outside layer of the chicken peices is bright red from the dye and the chicken thigh replaced with breast ao it not succulent but bland. The rolls had no flavour whatsoever and none of us finished them. Once upon a time you could taste every element from the pate, mayonnaise, crunchy carrots. The one positive is they have moved the counter where you order to the front of the shop and now have an order #. I believe the rating here is from a bygone era. Competitors have caught up offering a fresh, modern approach. This place is stuck in time and staring to take short cuts on quality to remain competitive. For me, sadly, I will have to start exploring alternative banh mi shops.

This is the best Banh Mi place in Melbourne, the baguette alone should be studied. All the meat selections are at the highest level but it is their Tofu banh mi that elevates them to another level. Try the salted Viet coffee as well

An iconic banh mi bakery thats been serving locals for over 20 years. I’ve been coming here since I was a child! My go-to is their cold pork and grilled chicken banh mi but their other meats are also worth a try. (Pictured) Crispy Pork $11: Very dry and chewy today but there was one piece that was nice and fatty. 2.5/5 for today. Probs just unlucky and got mostly butt ends/edges so beware. (Pictured) Grilled Chicken $9: Perfectly grilled sweet soy marinade. Juicy. This was my go-to for years! Glad that it’s still consistent. 4.2/5 General filling: Carrots, Cucumber, Onion, Coriander, fried shallots Great amount of meat. Good amount of vegetables. Feels heftier than their new store. Kind of saucy. Chilli isn’t spicy. Pate & Bo: Standard taste. Generous spread. Bread: Standard. Slightly crunchy. Service: Standard and very quick. Card surcharge: Yes
