My company held our Christmas Party at the Mount Erica Hotel last night.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted to a perfectly prepared private room and very welcoming staff.
The food was very delicious.
From the starters, the Leek & Gruyère Croquettes were my favourite — they were packing so much flavour.
For mains, we had Rotisserie Chicken and Sirloin. The chicken was perfectly cooked — very juicy and oh so delicious! The Sirloin was very rare (not a medium rare, as listed) and a few of my colleagues couldn’t eat it at all. I was fine with it, but could definitely see why some people were having issues with it. If it was cooked to medium rare, as advertised, it would’ve been a hit.
There was chips, which was just perfect too.
The dessert was insane — Chocolate Mouse. It was perfect and not too rich. It was the only thing I took a photo of.
All throughout the evening, the service was outstanding. There were two staff members, who looked after us, and a whole army of staff during service time. Every single person was really friendly, very professional, and just enjoyable to be around.
We had a fantastic night! I’d definitely recommend Mount Erica Hotel both as a dinner venue and as a private party location.

A group of 6 of us went for dinner yesterday evening and we had a great time with the hotel having a nice warm environment, delicious food, nice hotel vibe and expertly serviced by a very friendly and courteous Pan who should be acknowledged for his assistance. We will be back and highly recommend.

The Mount Erica Hotel has that boujee pub energy — packed with locals and buzzing with atmosphere. Came here for a feed and a few drinks, and first thing to note… it’s bloody expensive.
Ordered the chicken schnitzel, which came with a horseradish-style slaw that absolutely blasted up the nostrils — think wasabi vibes. The schnitzel itself was cooked really well and honestly enjoyable, but the slaw just wasn’t for me (though I get why it’s popular with others).
Also tried the calamari, which was pretty standard — nothing amazing but decent with the dipping sauce. The salad it came with looked a little tired, but I usually skip that anyway.
Chips were solid, not standout, but did the job with a bit of mayo or ketchup. The beef tartare was actually quite decent — yolk and Tabasco really helped bring out the flavour.
Overall, doing quality pub food with a slightly upscale twist. If I was rating the schnitty alone, I’d give it a 4/5. The rest of the food sat around the 3.5/5 mark. Big props to the kitchen though — food came out fast despite a full house.

I had one of the best Tuesday steak (Sirloin) nights in Melbourne at Mount Eric Hotel. I ordered a medium-rare steak, and it was cooked exactly how I wanted—crispy on the outside and perfectly medium-rare inside. The taste was fantastic, and I have to give credit to the chefs for their excellent work. The chips were equally impressive, fresh, and cooked in clean oil, which made a big difference.
Special shoutout to Katie, who took our order. She was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The atmosphere was vibrant, packed with people, and had such lovely vibes.
Highly recommend this spot for a great steak night!

So the below is a review I wrote a year ago but I’ve been pack to Mt Erica 5 times since then and wanted to come back to edit and give the team 5 stars for their food, atmosphere and service. The change in service here is impressive. The team are great! They’re friendly and helpful, just what you want to be greeted with as a customer. Make sure you book ahead for their Tuesday Steak Night special! 😍

The food is always delicious here, even when you go there for their specials! The decor amazing! But, I can’t say that I would rate the service here. I wouldn’t expect to be greeted with a smile or with any warmth.
It’s such a shame that the service is so lax even on the cusp of being rude from the time you enter to the time you exit. If the service improved I’d go more often but until then there’s plenty of other pubs & restaurants with delicious food and amazing decor with much better service for my friends and I to go to.
