Dining at Victor Churchill was a standout experience, beginning with impeccable service. A special shoutout to Archie and Samuel, who were attentive, knowledgeable, and struck the perfect balance of being present without ever feeling intrusive. The food was exceptional. The wagyu croquettes may look simple on the outside, but they were rich, flavourful, and deeply satisfying. The octopus was cooked beautifully—tender with a perfectly balanced sauce that complemented rather than overwhelmed the dish. The true highlight of the meal was the côte de boeuf. It was outstanding and easily the best steak we’ve had in a long time—perfectly cooked, full of flavour, and unforgettable. The only area for improvement would be during the ordering process, particularly for first-time diners. Some guidance on portion sizes would be greatly appreciated. With appetisers, entrées, complimentary sourdough, and sides ordered, we found ourselves unable to finish the asparagus and salad, resulting in avoidable waste. Overall, an exceptional dining experience with world-class food and service, made even better with a little more guidance for first-time guests.

Victor Churchill was absolutely fabulous! One of the best steakhouses in Melbourne. For entrees we ordered the charcoal grilled octopus, and the steak tartare with gaufrette crisps. Both dishes were perfectly presented and tasted amazing. For steaks we ordered the rangers valley black market scotch fillet, cooked medium rare and the stone axe full blood wagyu longissimus dorsi cooked medium, with bearnaise, peppercorn and red wine sauces. Both steaks were delicious and flavourful. For sides we ordered the wedge salad, green asparagus and French fries which complimented the steaks perfectly. The service was outstanding. Our waiter, Marco, was so kind, attentive, polite, and helpful. He took care of us from start to finish, and provided impeccable hospitality. It is clear he is so passionate, ensuring customers have the best dining experience. Grazie Marco! Top tier steakhouse, 5+ stars, I highly recommend Victor Churchill to everyone!

Being the second time we’ve dined here - all I can say is we highly recommend. The first time we went was about a year ago and it was just the two of us whilst this time we were accompanied by another couple. The first time we were here we were seated at the bar, which is a great experience and you can view the chefs in the kitchen cooking all the exquisite dishes in addition admiring the beautiful aesthetics of the room too! We recommend if you can go with a few more people you are able to try a lot more of the menu. There is nothing we could fault, the service exceptional and even the drinks recommended were top notch. Every detail has been taken into consideration. As a couple and our first time there we definitely over ordered! Entree we ordered the oysters, the night special of chicken skewers, steak tartare and chicken liver. Prior to receiving the entrees we received their house made bread and butter - which is good! We’ve had better bread and butter combos at other restaurants however this one was good! Special mention goes to the steak tartare which one of the staff mixes it for you. The oysters were fresh and the vinaigrette was amazing. I’m not a huge fan of liver parfait but my partner definitely loved it! The chicken skewers could have been a miss. As for our mains we love sharing a piece of steak off the bone. From memory we order the O’Connor Premium Pasture Fed MS 3+ - Côte de Boeuf, 1kg with a side of French fries and wedge salad. Oh gosh I could not fault this, the steak was cooked to perfection and we go to taste all the sauces they also had on offer. We were absolutely stuffed but ordered some profiteroles - again amazing! The second time we recently went, we were seated in this ‘fish bowl’ room which was private for us an spacious. We ordered again the oyster, steak tartare, chicken liver parfait and the beef short rib croquettes all in which was amazing! As for the steak we ordered the O’Connor Premium Pasture Fed MS 3+ - Côte de Boeuf, 1kg and Rangers Valley Black Market 270 day grain fed MS 5 + Bistecca, 1kg. With a side of fries and the wedge salad again. This was all divine! The steaks were cooked perfectly medium rare and you could taste the difference between both cuts. Simply amazing! Highly recommend if you are able to grab a booking, please do because you won’t be disappointed. Definitely lives is to one of the top steak restaurants in the world!

Victor Churchill exceeded my expectations. The food was delicious, portion sizes were generous and the quality was premium. My favourites were the steak tartare, foie gras, duck, and asparagus. Service was fantastic and very attentive. The ambience was beautiful and felt like fine dining without being over the top. We went on a weekday and it was already full, which makes sense as I’ve heard it’s hard to book. Overall, a great experience and definitely worth trying.

This was hands down the best steak we’ve had in Melbourne. From start to finish, the experience was exceptional. Although each seating is limited to two hours, the waiting staff and kitchen team worked in perfect harmony to ensure customers did not feel rushed. The appetisers were all fantastic—especially the steak tartare, which absolutely lived up to its high reputation in other reviews. But the standout for us was the king prawn: incredibly fresh, and the sauce was so delicious we found ourselves asking for extra bread just to soak up every last drop! We were a party of four, each ordering a different cut of steak. There was a small mix-up with my order, but the team handled it with such professionalism and efficiency that my correct cut was brought out within minutes. Every steak was of superb quality and cooked to perfection. We left a generous tip—not only to cover the extra steak we took home due to the mix-up, but also to show our appreciation for the outstanding service provided by the entire team. Their professionalism and attention to detail truly made the evening memorable. We’ll definitely be back the next time we’re in Melbourne. Highly recommended!
