Quiet little patisserie serving immaculate baked desserts, and sandwiches. Perfect spot to enjoy a coffee tucked into a shady corner of Auburn Road. Wide selection of croissants, from plain, traditional to savoury and more interesting filled varieties, such as pistachio.
The sausage roll caught me by surprise, it’s a frank wrapped in caramelised onions, wrapped in flaky pastry, really good even though it wasn’t what I expected. The desserts aren’t over sugared, the sweetness is subtle. The pastry is deliciously flaky and apple crumble danish was more tart, with the sweetness of cooked apple cutting through. The cheesecake was exceptional, light, fluffy and retained a touch of the savoury flavour of its ingredients.
Excellent coffee, I’ve tried Mont Blancs at a few places and this one was top tier. I’ll be back again.

📍@lacroissanterieandco, Hawthorn
We have been visiting Parisian Baker in Essendon for years and it was great to finally visit their sister store La Croissanterie & Co in Hawthorn 😍
This team makes some of our favourite cinnamon scrolls in Melbourne and they are always coming up with new flavours like the Black Forest and Sticky Date & Pecan, both really good by the way 🤤
Their savoury pastries are incredibly delicious too, this time we tried the Maple Bacon Bear Claw with pickled cucumber and cheese which was amazing 👏🏻

A very cute cafe tucked away in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, Hawthorn. The selection of pastries vary from croissants to cinnamon scrolls and to even cakes. There was a very wide selection making the decision of what to get ten times harder.

We had opted for the cinnamon scrolls as we’ve heard great things about it and they just looked so pillowy soft. The pistachio Christmas croissant was so flakey and the distribution of pistachio was very generous. There was a strong flavour especially paired with the swirls of chocolate made this the highlight! The chocolate croissant on the other hand was not as mind blowing, it was very flakey but we felt that the ratio of chocolate to croissant didn’t add up. Nonetheless it was a very enjoyable experience and would be keen to try the other items on the menu.

Ordered the Le Crookie, Dubai croissant, Choux Macadamia au Chocolat, and the Mont blanc drink. The Le Crookie was a croissant filled with some chocolate cookie dough and baked with a layer of crumbly chocolate chip cookie on top. It was pretty good but might be even better if it was warmed up to soften the cookie and melt the chocolate slightly. The Dubai croissant was filled with a thick decadent layer of chocolate, some pistachio cream, crispy kadaifi and pistachio nuts. Would be perfect if it has a bit more pistachio to balance the rich chocolatey flavour as well as some more crunch from the kadaifi, but nonetheless it was still tasty. The Choux Macadamia au Chocolat was a puff pastry with hazelnut cream, chocolate ganache and a macadamia nut centre. Preferred if the choux pastry was crispy but other than that it was tasty, especially the macadamia nut centre. As for the Mont blanc drink, the cold brew coffee was smooth and paired well with the sweet velvety white hazelnut cream, and the orange zest added a refreshing note; very tasty. Overall enjoyed the sweet pastry selection and the service was good.
