Came here on a personal recommendation from past experience a few years ago where the food was described as exceptional. Did not feel the same today.
Ordered iced coffees, the tonkatsu sandwich and an eggs benedict.
Coffees were not in fact iced, but were cold - maybe because of the ice cream. Decent coffee and was served quick, hard to complain outside of value being a bit in question, being $8 each.
All food came cold and took ~30 minutes to arrive, far longer than the coffees took.
Tonkatsu sandwich did not taste like milk brioche bread like shown on the menu, actually seemed to be served on untoasted thin sliced white bread. Chicken portion was lacklustre, with the slaw extremely overpowering the chicken itself… also not “fried”. Fries were okay when served (still somewhat fresh), by the end of the (small) sandwich they were stale and disappointing. Also overpowered and weren’t very impressive.
Eggs benedict was similar, but the added avocado they didn’t skimp on, which was good. It also was served lukewarm, the sauce did not help to keep it warm whatsoever. The pulled pork was not pulled and was dry. Bread for the benny was far more impressive than the sandwich - I would have liked it more had they used that bread stock instead.
This was on a relatively quiet Saturday morning - a review from last week (from time of posting) corroborates my experience to a T.
Do not recommend. Shame seeing the other reviews from a few months ago looking far better. Sad to see the owners not replying to reviews any more either.
(Another review also showed two slices of chicken! Where was mine?)

I’ve been to Bawa a long time ago. Ordered the pork Benny and was shocked at how amazing it was. I was looking for the same experience but was disappointed.
Flavours were delicious, but what a shame the food was barely warm. This time I ordered the pulled pork eggs benny with a side of avo.
The hollandaise sauce poured over the eggs was very cold, so I think that made the warmish dish cool down even faster.
The pulled pork was cut into slices (ie not pulled) and was very very dry.
I’m unsure but the bread wasn’t warmed up when it was served. Unsure if it was in the toaster or not, but it wasn’t warm when I tried it.
I think I wouldn’t have enjoyed the dish if I didn’t add avo myself.
My dish missed the mark for me :(
Also if you order an iced coffee, ours came without ice, so remember to ask for ice for some iced drinks or double check if you decide to order them.

I recently visited Bawa Cafe, and it was an absolute treat! The atmosphere is fantastic — clean, cozy, and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to relax or catch up with friends. The vibe is just right, and it definitely sets the stage for a pleasant experience.
I had their pancakes, and wow — they were soft, fluffy, and delicious! Paired with a cup of their rich coffee, it was the perfect combination. Whether you’re a coffee enthusiast or just looking for a great bite, Bawa Cafe has got you covered.
Highly recommend it if you’re looking for a peaceful cafe with excellent food and a great environment. Can’t wait to come back!

Bawa Café offers a refined yet welcoming atmosphere that’s perfect for a relaxed brunch or a productive coffee stop. I ordered the Eggs Benedict along with a juice, and both exceeded expectations. The eggs were perfectly poached, served on a light, crisp base with a rich, balanced hollandaise sauce. The coffee was aromatic and full-bodied, complementing the meal beautifully.
Service was prompt and courteous, and the overall presentation reflected great attention to detail. Bawa Café stands out for its consistency in quality and calm, inviting ambience—highly recommended for anyone seeking a well-executed breakfast, juice or coffee experience

The pork belly Eggs Benedict with spinach and feta purée was an absolute standout, perfectly cooked, rich, and full of flavour. The pork belly was melt-in-your-mouth tender and paired so well with the creamy feta purée. Definitely a 10/10 dish.
The poke bowl was just as impressive, super fresh ingredients, generous portions, and a great balance of textures and flavours. Every bite felt light yet satisfying.
Highly recommend both dishes, delicious, beautifully presented, and worth coming back for!
