A Must-Try Yum Cha Experience at Bright Palace If you’re looking for a dining experience that is as interactive as it is delicious, Bright Palace in Docklands is a fantastic find. Located conveniently right near the Melbourne Star observation wheel, it’s the perfect spot for a weekend lunch with a group. The Experience: Forget the Menu! What makes Bright Palace stand out is the traditional food trolley service. While they do provide a standard menu for specific dishes, my best advice is to forget the menu entirely. Instead, wait for the trolleys to come to you. You get to see the steaming dishes firsthand and simply point to what looks good. It’s a fast-paced, "visual" way to eat that makes the meal feel like an event. How the Pricing Works The food is served in sampling-plate styles (perfect for sharing), and each dish is categorized into five tiers. Based on my recent visit, here is the price breakdown per plate: Standard: $9.80 Large: $11.80 Medium: $10.80 Supreme: $14.80 Deluxe: $18.80 The Food The core of the menu revolves around prawns, beef, and pork, prepared in a variety of ways—from delicate dumplings to savory stir-frys. Don't stop at the savory stuff, though; make sure to grab your desserts straight from the passing trolleys as well! Pro Tip: Bring the Whole Crew Because the dishes come in small sampling portions, the bigger your group, the more variety you can try. It’s the ultimate way to taste a little bit of everything without getting too full on just one dish. Overall, I loved this experience. If you’re in Docklands, give it a try—you won't be disappointed!

The food and service are both commendable, with a wide selection of dim sum available. Prices lean toward the premium side, but the generous portions and fillings make it worthwhile. The only drawback is that when dining as a pair, it’s difficult to sample many different dishes since each portion is quite large. Personally, I prefer the smaller sizes at Tim Ho Wan, which allow for ordering and enjoying a greater variety of dim sum

Had a great meal at Bright Palace! The half-price roast duck promo is unbelievable — just forty-something dollars and it even comes with a super fragrant duck shredded fried noodle. The duck is cut in big pieces, skin crispy and meat flavourful.

Amazing Cantonese dining in Docklands! The eggplant pot, roast pork, and white-cut chicken were packed with flavor and freshness. The roast duck and noodles were perfection. Attentive service, bright modern space, and authentic tastes make this spot a must-visit. Can’t wait to try their black garlic eel next!

🥟✨ Yum cha lovers! This one is for you! There’s something so nostalgic about yum cha trolleys rolling through the room. It instantly takes me back to uni days, hanging out with friends and bonding over food. The thrill of spotting the next trolley and peeking at what’s coming, pure bliss. The food here is so fresh and tasty! The staff was friendly and attentive. What more could you ask for? It’s a fantastic new addition to the growing food scene in Docklands.
