We chanced upon this cafe when staying with friends in Docklands, when we happened to be walking their dog Rosie on a Sunday morning in late November 2025.
It was a cold day in Melbourne as any, and we were pleasantly surprised to learn that Rosie was allowed inside this dog-friendly cafe!
Great all-day menu, and while the others enjoyed scrambled eggs, and granola, I couldn’t wait for my Japanese breakfast of Miso Salmon! All the hallmarks of a full Japanese breakfast set, including the onsen egg, pickles, and seaweed. Reminded me so much of our ryokan experience at a Japanese inn.
So AWESOME we returned just seven weeks later when we were staying with friends again for the weekend. The crew remembered us, and sat us at a table where Rosie had a little spot all to herself.
I rounded off my Miso Salmon Udon encore (I haven’t stopped dreaming about it!) with a batch brew coffee, and the others quite amusingly ordered the same meals! That said, we will definitely return to give the other mains a go!
We highly recommend this coffee/brunch spot in Docklands, just a short walk from District! Perfect stop before getting groceries so you’re not shopping hungry!

I was looking for a nice spot to start my morning, and Cocobei exceeded expectations! The toasted pan au chocolate was delicious, and the seasonal Pomo Bloom was brilliant and refreshing! Would definitely visit again soon.

Absolutely loved my visit to Cocobei Docklands 🤍
The café has such a cosy and welcoming vibe, plus it’s pet friendly which is a huge bonus.
The food was outstanding the Salt & Pepper Lobster Black Truffle Fried Rice was fragrant and packed with flavour, and the Crispy Crab Tom Yum Pasta had the perfect balance of tangy and spicy with crispy crab.
Dessert was a highlight too the Tiramisu French Toast was soft, creamy, and not overly sweet.
I also tried their Christmas Cinnamon Latte, which was warm, comforting, and beautifully presented.
Great location, great food, and a lovely atmosphere. Definitely a spot I’d come back to and highly recommend if you’re in Docklands.

Clean, tidy and bright cafe with lots of greens in Docklands. Outdoor spaces are available. The food and seasonal specials are very well presented and tasty.
The barista girl is very sweet, cute and talented. She always gives me surprises with her Latte art skills. Also, the coffee comes with high quality.
Must try all food options in the future.

Cocobei is easily one of the best brunch spots in Melbourne! The vibes are modern and cozy, and the presentation of every dish is picture-perfect. I loved the affogato and the toast — both were amazing. I just wish the drinks had a better combo, and the tomyum could have a stronger tomyum flavour, more sour and spicy. The slow cooked beef with eggs can be better if the beef are less sweet and big slices than just shredded. Still, the staff were friendly and the place has such a nice atmosphere.
