I've been coming here for years (6+ years) and unfortunately this place has gradually gone down hill. It makes me really sad to say this because I used to love coming here. Service is still generally good and food still tastes OK, but often will be under seasoned and potion sizes have gone down. Which is crazy because prices have gone up. Expect to pay close to $100 for 2 brunch dishes and 2 hot drinks. God forbid you ask for extra tomato sauce to butter for the dry toast, expect to be charged extra for those too. Cleanliness standards have also dropped. The floor near the kitchen and toilet are greasy, window sills haven't been cleaned and have dead bugs and the ceilings have cobwebs and dust right above the dining tables. Have spoken to many people locally who have had the same experience and avoid going here because of how expensive it is and how much the standardhas dropped.

Hi, I just made an order for a croissant with cheese and tomato, and it was honestly the worst I’ve ever received. The croissant wasn’t toasted properly, there was barely any cheese, the tomato tasted weird, and the whole thing was just very disappointing. The coffee was also terrible — I ordered an extra shot, but it tasted like plain hot milk with no flavour at all. Please look into this and fix these issues, especially if you’re going to charge these kinds of prices. Thank you.

West 48 Café is a nice café for brunch, offering a relaxing environment with plenty of green plants that add to its charm. The café can get busy most of the time, and parking on the main road can be tricky, but there are usually spots available on the surrounding streets. The staff were excellent—friendly, attentive, and efficient. The service was impressively fast. I ordered a coffee first, then my food about 5–6 minutes later, and both arrived together, which was very convenient. The food itself was fantastic. I ordered the beef brisket, and the portion size was perfect—not too large, not too small. The dish was fresh, tasty, and well-prepared, making it one of the highlights of the meal. The only downside was the coffee, which I found a bit burnt and not to my taste.

One of the finest cafés in the area, consistently delivering an exceptional dining experience. Their Shakshuka deserves a special mention — it’s arguably the best we’ve tasted, with perfectly balanced flavors and beautifully presented. The staff have always been attentive, welcoming, and pleasant to interact with, making each visit genuinely enjoyable. Having visited on multiple occasions, we’ve found their food and coffee to be consistently of high quality. Their coffee, in particular, stands out — rich, smooth, and expertly brewed, easily ranking among the best in town. A highly recommended spot for anyone looking for quality food, great coffee, and excellent service.

West 48 is a welcoming and cozy brunch spot tucked away in the inner west. The atmosphere is warm and inviting perfect for a relaxing catch-up or a quiet morning. The menu offers a great variety with some standout options, and the coffee definitely lives up to the local hype. If you're a coffee lover, you'll appreciate that when you order a large cup, you actually get a large cup—no surprises there! That said, while the food is tasty and well-prepared, the portion sizes are great for the price. Still, the quality and overall vibe make it one of the better local cafes worth visiting every now and then.
