Absolutely fabulous on all counts. The food is heaven, everything has been made with the most care into flavours and textures. Blew us away. Particularly the fable quesadilla and chilaquiles 😘👏
Brilliant for vegetarians and the cocktails were some of the best I've ever had. The watermelon margarita and Paloma were particularly divine. Atmosphere is wonderful as well, service was fast and kind. If I could give more stars I would.

La Tortilleria Kensington is unbeatable.
The prawn ceviche is absolutely to die for — I order it every single time the weather’s good and I feel like eating here… which is basically whenever the sun is out or it’s over 20 degrees.
Every single taco is exceptional, along with the birria, quesadillas, frijoles, totopos, guacamole, salsa and pico de gallo. Everything is made in-house — including their tacos, wraps and chips — and you can even buy them at local supermarkets. The quality is unreal.
Service is always great, ordering via QR is easy, and they’re extremely allergy-friendly. There are also vegan options available, including vegan cheese, without sacrificing flavour.
Consistently outstanding food, every visit. A true Melbourne favourite and always worth coming back for.

If you are looking for an authentic mexican experience, la tortilleria surely tops the list! Very big servings of carefully crafted goodness.
They give you complementary nachos with salsa to start as you check the menu---which I think adds a lovely touch to the experience. We tried their big breakfast nachos with shredded pollo and this alone made me feel full. For the soft tacos dont forget to try the shrimp (9/10) and the birria tacos (10/10). My husband orderer the carnitas and he loved the smoke porked taste of it (kind of like pinoy sisig).
The star of the show for me is the mango horchata---nice twist to this classic mexican drink.
I pretty much loved the vibe of the place embodied by the very friendly staff.
