Got food poisoning on the 13th of Jan after I ate the hainan chicken rice. The Ginger on the chicken was fine but the chilli sauce is spoiled. As soon as I had a tiny bit of that chilli sauce, I can taste the yuckyness and bad smell of it. It's EXTREMELY HORRIBLE experience.
The laksa soup base is salty.
There are 3 in our group had food poisoning, 1 vomited and 2 had diarrhoea.
VERY HORRIBLE

The laksa special had tender thigh chicken. There were also a couple of pieces of fried bean curd and a few small pieces of egg plant. It was unusual that the egg plant wasn't hot but "cool".
The texture of the soup base was tasty enough but coarser than I've had.
It was hard to rate it because I only marginally liked it and it was borderline but could have made it to 4 stars if the egg plant was actually hot. I felt that it was also missing more beansprouts and more fresh herbs. All this is considering the price and what I normally pay so I would have expected better.
However I was impressed with the waitress who spotted that a customer had left his sunnies behind and went after him to give it to him.
The iced Teh Tarek was just right.
There are about 25 tables here in this cosy restaurant decorated to mimic an old time Malaysian restaurant with faux windows and white shutters.
I came mid afternoon and it's had a steady stream of people coming and going and been about half to three quarters full most of that time.
There is a surcharge on card payment

Ordered the Bak kut teh and it’s not bad. Of course definitely not the same as what we will get in Singapore. Portion size is reasonable for one person, and it didn’t take long to arrive.
You will have to order and pay first at the counter.

Short version :
Decent food with fair value—around 7.5–8/10. No surcharge all year round, and weekday cash payments even come with a free drink. Service was fine for us, though the slamming door could use some attention.
Full review:
Overall, I would say it’s just okay, with the main highlight being that there’s no surcharge all year round. On weekdays, if you pay cash, you even get a complimentary drink as a little reward.
We ordered the BBQ chicken noodles, signature laksa, pork bone soup pan mee, taro spring rolls, Thai fish cakes, and two drinks. The food was decent—nothing amazing, but quite good. If I had to score it, I’d give it around 75–80 out of 100.
As for service, I personally didn’t experience the rude counter staff that others mentioned. When we first arrived, there were no seats available, so we sat outside. Later, once a table was cleared inside, the staff kindly tidied it up and invited us to move in, which I appreciated.
One small thing to note: the door can be quite loud every time it closes—it sounds like it’s being slammed shut. It might be worth fixing or adding a soft-close to make the dining experience more pleasant.

I was recommended this place by a Malaysian friend and it turned out to be a really homey spot with comforting and flavourful food. The menu offers a variety of choices, but of course the highlight is the laksa, which truly lives up to the restaurant’s name. The broth was rich and aromatic, with just the right balance of spice and creaminess, making it both satisfying and authentic. The space itself feels casual and welcoming, which makes it a good option for a simple meal when you want something hearty and well made. Definitely worth a visit if you enjoy Malaysian flavours.
