Servings were generous and well-priced. Great vibe and decor. Recommend coming as a group so you can try more of the dishes!

Had a good time at Capitano. Lovely vibe for catching up with friends. Pls dont forget to try their pistachio pesto (a *chef's kiss* moment for me)! The calamari was perfect with those pickled peppers (I could eat a jar of those). And to top it all off, their tiramisu is one of the best I had in melbourne ๐Ÿ˜Š

Came here with a friend who was pregnant and our waitress was so well informed about the foods on the menu that my friend could eat, we were blown away. Food was delicious, the deep dish pizza was amazing with the Parmesan crust and the casarecce had a beautiful deep flavour. The salad was beautifully dressed and the pangrattato was a great textual addition. Wine selection was decent, the Barbera was particularly good. A must try restaurant!

ORDERED: ๐ŸŸ Yellowfin tuna: preserved tomato, yuzu espelette pepper ($25.00) ๐Ÿ• The Sicilian Squares: cherry tomato, pecorino, olives, capers ($30.00) + hot honey ($4.00) ๐Ÿฏ ๐Ÿ Tortiglioni pasta: with vodka sauce ($29.00) + parmesan ($2.00) ๐Ÿง€ ๐Ÿ Campanelle pasta: spanner crab, capers, brown butter ($36.00) It was ~$52.00 for my portion here! REVIEW: 1. ๐Ÿ” Favourite was the Sicilian Square. Crispy, delicious base loaded with plenty of ingredients. The tang from the capers offset the slight sweetness of the tomatoes, combined with the saltiness of the olives? Sure it's a vegetarian dish but it packed a punch. ๐Ÿ‘Š You HAVE to add on the hot honey. A viscous sweetness with a subtle spiciness with every bite. It elevated the dish and carried the whole evening. ๐Ÿงก 2. ๐ŸŽบ Second favourite was the Campanelle pasta. The pasta shape was so fun! Looking like a little trumpet/flower, it was perfectly al dente and complimented the spanner crab perfectly. I'm a sucker for capers, and the simplicity of brown butter made it easy to enjoy. โŒ Would not order the yellowfin tuna next time. It was cut into long slices, where the fish was almost swimming in the oil. It became more 'gluggy' and I wasn't able to appreciate the quality. ๐Ÿค” Service was going well, until it was time to wrap up. Waitstaff were great at noticing when we finished our meal but after taking away our main plates, we were just left alone. Not even an offer of dessert menu or tea/coffee. We ended up wandering to the till because at that point, we were ready to leave. That also took a little time to get us sorted out as well. ๐Ÿค A noticeable drop in service towards the end of the night. Would highly recommend booking! It seemed like Capitano had a full house for their Friday dinner service. ๐ŸŒ™

Lovely meal, restaurant setting and service. The fluffiest, tastiest focaccia Iโ€™ve ever had and the pistachio pesto sauce was incredible. October menu attached. Already planning the next visit!
