Taxi Kitchen isn’t just a meal — it’s a symphony for the senses, a love letter written in bold Australian-Asian fusion strokes across the plate. Every bite feels like pure alchemy: delicate lobster dumplings bursting with oceanic joy, silky bibim guksu twirling threads of umami magic, broccolini kissed by fire and fragrance… each dish a small masterpiece that dances between familiar comfort and thrilling surprise. The flavours collide and caress in perfect harmony — fresh, fearless, unforgettable. And then there’s the view: perched above Federation Square, the city and Yarra unfold beneath you like a glittering canvas, turning dinner into something cinematic. The light, the skyline, the energy — it all conspires to make you feel alive. Service flows with warmth and effortless grace, cocktails shimmer with creativity, and the whole experience leaves you floating. Simply superb. A delight that lingers on the tongue and in the heart. Taxi Kitchen has stolen my devotion — I’m already counting the days until I return.

The food was AMAZING! However, it took over an hour to get our meal or even bread for the table. We were a group of 6, 3 ordered Steaks. When we asked what was going on they said our cut was quite large and took longer to cook, and it would be 4 mins….. it was an additional 12 mins. Luckily we had good company, but customer service missed the mark for sure. Also took 25 mins for my drink to come. Our entrées came out before the main so not even time to enjoy separate.

The food was ok but way overpriced. The portions were huge. I saw many others getting take home containers because they couldn't eat it all. Ceaser salad was expensive and only just average with a very undercooked deep fried egg on top. My meatball sub was not great and the fries were ok. The white wine could have been colder and $25 for one glass was outrageous.

Amazing restaurant with incredibly delicious small shareable plates and excellent wine pairings. Highly recommend the lamb here, it was the one of the best we had. Good atmosphere, good location, with some views of the city.

Had a beautiful lunch here, was the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon looking over the city and the Yarra river. Staff were very knowledgeable and had great suggestions on both food and wine. We were treated to a lovely tuna snack and then had the bug tails (always a favourite!) pork belly, barramundi dumplings (yum!) & the lamb larb which was so fresh & delicious. Shared the slow cooked lamb for main along with the crispy rice salad and finished with the soufflé. Only complaint/suggestion - bring back the passionfruit soufflé please!!!
