I love this place, good coffee, bar seating and a few nice cakes, simply perfect. I grew up in Leichhardt, Sydney's little Italy, during the 80s-90s and there used to be dozens of little spots like this but sadly they're all gone, so it was great to be transported back to my childhood at this magic place, thank you.

Five stars without even a sip of hesitation. Pellegrini’s isn’t just a cappuccino, it’s a time machine to where Melbourne’s coffee obsession was born. Vintage, no-nonsense charm, silky espresso, and milk froth so perfect it deserves its own postcode. Come for the history, stay for the cup that ruins all other cappuccinos forever. ☕️ Make sure to check out their story on the big screen, 🍿🎬🎥“Pellegrinis, A Melbourne Legacy.”

The first coffeeshop in Melbourne that started the coffee culture in Melbourne (they have the first espresso machine in Melb). This coffeeshop uses Vittoria Beans which is so far my favourite, its just plain bitterness in flatwhite with no caramel taste. The atmosphere feels like 1960s, bar chairs & counter seats are very tightly spaced, reflecting the small-sized people of that era. They do serve other italian food here too. Overall recommended.

We wanted Creme Caramel and this place gave the perfect fix to our craving. Perfect bitter, sweet and creamy amazing! The shop is 70 years old and you feel transported in time! Our kind of shop, good food with no frills!

Was recommended to go to Pellegrini’s by a friend. We could not get a seat and ended up sitting in the kitchen with the chef Anna. What a delight this was as she was the Chef, the waitress and hostess with the mostest. Anna was unbelievable. Great food and coffee, but most of all beautiful people service. If you are in Melbourne and want a great meal, you must visit pellegrini’s.
