Delicious high tea coupled with excellent service!
My sister and I enjoyed a fantastic high tea at Grand Hyatt on the weekend. Nita checked us in and explained the three course high tea menu: three tiers of savories and scones to start, hot share plates, then the dessert buffet to finish. They poured a lovely sparkling tea and we were off. After the first course, we were surprised how full and content we already were, despite there being two courses to follow. The food was scrumptious; familiar yet never boring in its presentation. Personal standouts for me were roast chicken sandwich, hash brown w/ whipped taramasalata, and raspberry buttercream macaron.
I would be remiss not to mention the amazing service we received from the team at Grand Hyatt Melbourne. Anisha and Tiara were delightful and dedicated in delivering true hospitality. Despite a busy service and us being surrounded by other high tea bookings, they were fast in delivering food, clearing plates, and taking drink orders without ever rushing us to the next course. Outstanding service! Furthermore, chef Bambam on the crepe station was friendly and impressive in whipping up custom crepes for a line of guests, all while being friendly and inviting. The team had even remembered that it was my sister's birthday and prepared a birthday surprise! Truly excellent service that will have us returning in the near future.

Collins Kitchen is located inside Grand Hyatt Melbourne. It serves dinner buffet on Friday night and A La Carte other days. Place is cozy, quiet, comfortable and easy to talk. We had the A La Carte menu. Entrees and Steak were good and desserts were acceptable. Recommended for friend gatherings and romantic dates.

We celebrated my daughter’s 40th birthday, New Year and my mom’s birthday at the Kitchen Room. The service, food and atmosphere was flawless and of high quality. I cannot say more just , thank you to yhe friendly staff. Special thanks to Ellen who looked after us in the dining throughout the night, David who made sure everything is in place and the details were carried out; and Snow who coordinated our reservation for this event. We had a fantastic birthday lunch at Collins Kitchen inside the Grand Hyatt Melbourne, opting for the Express Lunch menu.
The service was the highlight—truly attentive and friendly, making our celebration special with a surprise plate of macarons and a Polaroid family photo!
Regarding the food: the goat cheese custard entrée was absolutely divine and a must-try. Our brisket burger and feta pie mains, served with generous sides of chips and slaw, were delicious and very filling. While the buttermilk fried chicken had good flavour, it was a little too oily for my liking.
Overall, we had a wonderful time and highly recommend Collins Kitchen for a lovely meal and impeccable service.

Collins Kitchen is absolutely amazing! Such a memorable experience from start to finish. The staff are so lovely and make you feel really looked after, and the menu is just incredible. The atmosphere is truly special — we were lucky enough to be seated in a booth overlooking the city and I honestly felt like a princess. The perfect spot for a special date night. Can’t wait to come back!
