Signature malatang with 🌶️🌶️🌶️ was seriously SO good. Now I get why people say Dragon Hot Pot is top tier. Huge range of ingredients to choose from, and the broth is deep, rich, and actually delivers real spice.

📍 Dragon Hotpot — Russell St ⭑.ᐟ Stopped by the Dragon Hotpot on Russell St — one of the few branches that stays open late — and it was perfect for a cold night. They have so many options for veggies, meats, noodles, and all the hotpot add-ins, so you can really customise your bowl however you like. The portion is huge (like seriously, giant-bowl huge 😂). It’s great if you’re hungry, but honestly can be a bit overwhelming if you try to finish it alone — definitely sharable for 3–4 people. The broth is rich, comforting, and hits the spot on chilly nights. But the queue was insanely long — we waited around 30 minutes, even going back and forth twice because the line didn’t move 😅. Overall: long wait, huge portions, super comforting hotpot — great for late-night hunger and cold Melbourne nights. 🍲🔥

Dragon Hot Pot on Russell Street is easily one of my go-to places in Melbourne when I’m craving something warm, fresh, and filling. What I really like about this place is the amount of choice you get. You pick your own ingredients from a huge selection—fresh vegetables, different kinds of noodles, tofu, mushrooms, seafood, and meats if you want. Everything is priced by weight, so you can really build your bowl the way you like it. For me, the best part is the veggie broth. It’s light, tasty, and still full of flavour. I often pair it with tofu, mushrooms, leafy greens, and a bit of noodle, and it always feels comforting without being too heavy. It’s also great that they have plenty of vegetarian and vegan-friendly options, which makes it easier to enjoy with friends who have different preferences. The restaurant itself has a busy, lively atmosphere, especially at night, but that adds to the fun. Since it’s open 24/7, it’s perfect for late-night meals after work or catching up with friends. Sometimes it can get crowded, but service is usually quick and you don’t have to wait too long once you’ve picked your bowl. Overall, Dragon Hot Pot on Russell Street is a reliable spot with great flavours, fresh ingredients, and the big bonus of being open all day and night. I definitely recommend it if you enjoy hot pot and want something tasty, simple, and satisfying in the city.

A small restaurant with compact tables and chairs. There is a food station where you can pick the ingredients you like, then the staff weigh them, you pay, and they cook it in a hot pot for you. It’s a tasty mala tang, and quite enjoyable. The place gets pretty busy around lunchtime.

My go to Hot Pot restaurant in Melbourne. My favorite soup is malatang mild spicy level, although their stir-fry version is good too. I am happy with the selections of the ingredients. Lunch and dinner time usually packed, so if you dont want to wait come before those hours.
