Ponyfish Island is a small, cosy bar on the Yarra River. Itโs much smaller than most other riverside venues, so it can feel a bit congested when itโs busy. Itโs nice for a one-time visit and a few drinks, but if you skip it, youโre not really missing out on anything special. The food was pretty average, so itโs more of a drinks spot than a dining destination.

We headed to a bar along the Yarra River to catch the Monday pizza deal and soak up the sun ๐ Even at 1:00 PM on a Monday, the place was packed, but luckily we didn't have to wait long for a table in the shade โฑ๏ธ
We grabbed a $15 Margherita pizza fresh from the oven, the crust was perfectly chewy with a nice crunch on the edges, and the flavors were so well-balanced ๐ We paired it with a $4.50 lemonade, which was incredibly refreshing๐
Watching the boats glide down the river and soaking in the chill vibes was the perfect way to start the week ๐

I am a little bias, the last time that I used to go here in 2013 it had more character and was a young start up so a lot more hip and with personality. It was nice a good setting but it has lost its original vibe and is a conservative spot for middle to older age locals and tourists

I love their wild berries jugs drink. I love the atmosphere, the music. However I think itโs quite dirty. The seats, the table, the wall, and THE TOILETS are all dirty. The service is so so.

A perfect little gem in the heart of Melbourne.
Always enjoy this bar from the choice of drinks and food available. But best is the vibe with the music and people watching on both sides of river. Let alone the traffic on the water.
Great to find a spot as the sun sets and take up the sun rays.
Staff are always happy and friendly
