What a great little pub….. Really good food. Not just standard classic. Well maintained and neat. Staff were super friendly and were supportive with my request for a decent break between meals. Thanks

Lovely pub, definitely worth a visit. Large variety on menu, I had cutlets $46 found them a bit small for price but were nice and my client had Morton Bay Bugs Pasta and for sweets I had the best warm brownie $20 and my client had Affogato. It was a bit pricey main and sweets was $70 with a soft drink and $64 for other main and affogato and soft drink. Nice staff.

Overall, it was an okay experience. The food was nice and the portions ok. The staff were friendly but blended into the background. We went around lunchtime and it was generally quiet with a few tables taken. The wait for the food was a bit long as we waited over 30 mi utes to get our plates, whereas the drinks came out after 2 minutes. The parking is somewhat difficult as the majority of the area is signed as permit zones and the rest is quite busy as it's next to the tram stop leading to the city. We drove around for 15 minutes just to find a parking.

Lovely customer service. A great pub. I had the Thai beef salad which I thought was a bit on the pricey side $34 for a smaller bowl which looked more like a side salad. I also found the dressing to be a little more spicier than it should have been. Also $34 for grilled fish n chips - perhaps maybe add a small side salad to go with or serve. We’ve been to many pubs and we found this pub to be quite on the expensive side with much smaller portions.

We walked into the Clare castle and immediately noticed two separate areas—one side with a casual bar and sports TV setup, and the other seemingly more formal for dining. Although the venue wasn’t particularly busy, we were refused seating in the dining area after staff noticed we had a pram. That was disappointing, but we didn’t mind too much and took a seat in the bar area, which was noticeably loud despite being far from full. After placing our order, we waited over 30 minutes for our food with no acknowledgment or updates. It was clear our order had been forgotten, and even after following up, there was no apology or sense of urgency. When the food finally arrived, the presentation was decent and the chips were fine, but the parma was a complete letdown—bland and underwhelming. Overall, the experience was disappointing both in terms of service and food quality. Would not recommend, especially if you’re expecting a welcoming or family-friendly environment.
