Recently had our work Xmas party here. Barefoot bowls great afternoon. Richard Gale and team from the bowls club so accomodating and made us feel so welcome. Great BBQ provided by Richard and team as part of package highly reccomend. Nat and Jason in the bar again so welcoming and their customer service was A grade. Stacey at reception made the booking of the event an easy experience we will definitely be back.

Have always enjoyed coming here with the family. Situated right on the water and lots of space/things to keep kids entertained however the food has gone downhill over the last few years. Used to be a good meal for a reasonable price but now prices have gone up and quality has gone down. I thought with new bistro owners that the use of cheap frozen veggies would stop but it appears not, very disappointing.

Family Friendly

Review for Altona Sports Club- SPECIAL SHOUTOUT TO ANG!! I recently attended our work Xmas party at the Altona Sports Club Bistro, and I can confidently say that the standout of the evening was our waitress, Ang. From the moment we arrived, Ang greeted us with a warm, genuine smile and heaps of enthusiasm! What impressed us all was her exceptional attentiveness. Even though it was a busy night, Ang would check in on us every now and then to make sure we were having a good time. She always made sure we had everything we needed and provided answers to any questions with ease. I’m tipping She’s been working there for a while, because She managed to handle such a large group effortlessly. Many of my colleagues, who have extensive experience in customer service and hospitality, remarked that Ang’s service was truly incredible! She made our dining experience not just enjoyable, but memorable. In short, Ang is an invaluable asset to the Altona Sports Club Bistro, and she deserves plenty of recognition and praise for her outstanding service. From all of us at Wise Employment THANKYOU ANG.. πŸ™πŸ½β€οΈ

Horrific, avoid at all costs! The only part of this place that deserves the one star is the fact that it's on the water with a pretty view of the water and the city, other than that just do yourself a favour and stay away! There was no service at all, the amount of eye rolls, sassy remarks, horrendous attitudes and back handed comments we received was insane! When we went to the bar to order drinks we were told we only have 1 staff member working and we can't give you any of these drinks yet there were 3 people behind the bar. Drinks took 45 minutes to order and an hour and a half before they were delivered to the table. Meals were shocking, we had many people missing their meals and when we addressed it with staff they said it wasn't their problem and there was nothing they could do about it because they are busy. We then addressed it with a manager who wasn't much better. It took hours to get meals out and when they were questioned about why everyone wasn't getting their food in a timely manner and at the same time we were told that the chef doesn't do the tickets in order and he just decides which dishes he is going to make before others. The steak was chewy and a terrible cut to be honest. The chicken Parma tasted like fish and was so dry. The fish and chips was bland and was overcooked. The attitudes on those working tonight was nothing short of horrific, the way we were spoken to buy the staff was honestly disgusting! I would have enjoyed dinner at McDonald's more. I could keep going but all in all you should probably do yourselves a favour and fire all your exisiting bistro and bar staff and then hire some people who actually want to work, would be happy to have a job and want to be in a demanding customer facing role.
